Steering Alignment

Hey Guys

Where do you guys take your BMWs to get the steering wheel alignment done? I live in the Northern area of Gauteng, so somewhere around there would be preferable

I usually use HiQ, but as of late they have been annoying me because they cannot get my steering wheel centered correctly. Unfortunately on a 7 Series, this is more than just annoying as the cars electronic suspension sees that the steering wheel is turned and thinks that I am turning a corner at high speed and as such, makes the ride a lot firmer...

Is there a way to centre the steering wheel at home?

I use Conti Partner here in CPT, they are brilliant.

I find also that the reason your steering wheel is normally slightly off center, is because the idiot doing the alignment, stands outside the car and centers the wheel before locking it in place. Because he is standing outside the car, you will more than likely find the wheel is inclined slightly to the left.
