Stall at high revs

Hi there everyone,
I have a 2000 M5 E39 with 134 thou on the clock.
I have 2 questions and any help will be appreciated,

1. When giving her a bit of gas in 3rd gear at about 4 thousand rpm the motor cuts out and seems to go into "limp"mode, once you switch off and leave her to stand for a minute or 2 , everything is back to normal, have any of the fundis heard of this or experienced something like this, could it be electrical(computer) or fuel supply??
Help please!
Secondly, the car is now out of motorplan and i am tired of being ripped by the stealers, im based in Joburg and any recomendations for serviceing and general care of my car will be highly apprecaited

My Dads E39 323i was doing the exact same thing. Turned out to be a dodgy coil.

Get someone who can read the codes, my guess is either MAF issues or Crank angle sensor

Had the same thing with my car at high RPM and suddenly dying and going into limp mode. Was a dodgy coil too. Ross at RBTS fixed her up one time..

Damn.........

so took baby in last week and thought it is sorted to have the codes read, dude says see's no errors coming up or fault reporting,
says no sensors or MAF faults showing, so he re-set everything...
now apparantly this will adjust to your driving style etc...mmmm..
so went for a drive Sunday and yep......at about 4 thous in 3rd splutter splutter...limp mode......switch off / on then fine.....

Looks like will have to go to Gizmo...in the new year....and see WTF..is going on....

any one have some links maybe i can research a bit....
