stage 1

Hey guys.

My 335 is stock and want to do stage 1 tuning on my car.
Any suggestions?

Had my jb4 installed about a month ago. Best thing ever. She's a completely different car now. Loving every second behind the wheel.:inlove: :thumbs:

Most user friendly tune out there I'd say. And being a noob as well, I must say I learnt alot about the n54 engine and tuning options on this forum.

Add DCI or flatbed filter. That should keep you happy for awhile then go DPs.

Twins, thanks for the thread on the JB4...learnt alot....think i will be in contact with Renzomotorsport soon for one...will probably still need help with installing...just got the 335 last week so want to play with it stock for a month or so...big jump in power from my 130i...will also get dci after the jb4

A software or piggy back tune is the way to go. Greatest bang for buck. From there and on the differences are what I call stop watch differences as it's small gains. Down pipes also improve driveability quite a bit.

excuse the ignorance...but what is a piggy back tune?...from what I have noted, the jb4 is a piggyback...still not sure what that means...again, excuse the ignorance, im a newbie!:flyfun:

Its a device that alters the signals going to and from the cars computer box. You can thus alter various parameters of the car such as boost and timing to make the car perform better. On a personal capacity I have found them to function equally as well as flash tune with the only negative being fueling at very high power outputs that one will not see with stock turbos.

Absolutely. I never thought I would go back to flash tuning :=):...but I am forced to have a base flash to cope with our crappy fuel & to maximise the use of alternative fuels such as e95 to which the car is responding incredibly well.:thumbs:
