Squeaking front passanger seat

Hi Guys!
on my E46 , the front passenger seat has started squeaking while driving , while going over any bumps , or basically while the car is moving i can hear it squeak . If I hold it , it stops squeaking . The seat is a standard leather seat , not the sport seat .

This started about a week or so back and its getting louder in squeaks .

the seat is practically unused, Hardly anyone ever sits in it . So I dont think the frame or metal is broken, But its becoming so annoying , Its the only noise in the car as well . I have no other creaks or rattles . Just this squeak.

What could it be? Any ideas or suggestions? Would really appreciate all the help!

double check that it is actually the seat, because these cars have a habit of doors squeaking that sounds like its from the seat.

take some silicone spray and spray the rubber door seal... its the seal which is quite flexible and soft..and then see how that goes.

if it is the seat, unbolt the 4 bolts that keep the seat mounted to the floor. push the seat forward so it leans toward the windscreen, then take some grease and put some on the pivots, rails etc

Has to be the seat, when I hold it whil it's squeaking, the squeaking stops. Like I have a pet mouse.
But I will check again.

Remove the seat completely and check it properly... there are 4 bolts 2 on each rail slide the seat back and front this will expose the bolts and allow you to remove it... there is a plug for the air bag sensor under the seat release it and pull it out remember to disconnect your battery first replace the bolts tighten properly and see if it helps... good luck

Check if the rails are lose it might be that also or the controls for the seat
