Split second loss off power

Hi

Every now and then I'm experience a split second loss of power on my E90 320D 2006 model. I have read that it might be the spark plug or a coil on its way out.
Could be a coil pack, or a crank position sensor/camshaft position sensor or MAF.
Is this accurate?
What does this all mean and what costs are we talking about...?

Thanks
Marius

Hi Marius,

FYI, diesel engines do not work with spark plugs. That's petrol engines. So remove spark plug from your list of items. ;)

Secondly, do you have any warning lights on the dash? Or is it only your butt dyno that noticed the split second loss of power?

Next, a "split second loss in power" as you describe it, can be a few different things as you haven't given us much to go on. Do you have any more information you can give us? Try explain in more detail exactly what happens.

Many things can affect it to be honest. Even a duff battery as it affects the electronics. Best is to get some diagnostics read on the car

Diagnostics is the way to go. Mate at work to his diesel to SAC and they sorted it out surprisingly
