Hi guy's , travelling form Bedfordveiw to Sandton i have noticed they are not hiding the camer's behind the bridges any more , they are hiding them behind the red and white chevrons and blue plates on the side of the highway. I don't know if any one has seen this, keep an eye out .

I'm not sure what the rules are about this on the forum but maybe we can just update the guys on the location of the new cameras spotted?
maybe someone can give more insight before I post the info as I travel alot and have noticed that most of the cameras have changed location.

Not that I speed or anything like that:rollsmile:

I noticed the cameras situated between William Nicol heading to Mulibongwe.
Thing is we all look for those suspicious white cars parked under the bridges. They have now got a little clever. The camera is positioned well before you see that illusive white car, and there is a long cable running from the camera to the lazy ass punks sitting inside.

Just be weary guys:thumbs:

Now why would the camera need a cable if its got an on board battery??

These automatic cameras enable them to be very sneaky now days.

I see them on the M1 between Marlboro and woodmead, they hide them behind the base of the info boards. So you don't see a car or anything.

I've seen them hiding the camera in front of the car, parked on the shoulder with bonnet open. Not only are they parked on the shoulder of a highway without hazards flashing, it is illegal to hide the camera within 50m of a large metal object, a car is a large metal object.

I would gladly pay ETolls if they increased the speed limits for motor vehicles to say 150.

I suppose that won't happen, neither will the EToll payment

guys... I'm not sure if it's true, but there is something that states that a Speeding Violation can be in error if it is an "un-Manned" camera, as apposed to Fixed Camera, like the one's at traffic lights... etc...

so in a nutshell... these things might be debatable and could be dismissed...

I stand to be corrected, if anyone has more proper info...

No plates and disk FTW :)

Yeah but for how long. Road block and you screwed.

Velcro for plates, disk can be slotted in easily

I do the same. But it's scary passing cops on the highway. I've been followed in the past by an unmarked and questioned. So I only do that at night or if I wanna commit a crime.

Which signs exactly? I saw none today and usually they love trapping on Sundays. I drove N1 southbound from Pretoria to Randburg.

Hi there.

The camera being set up to work alone depends on the model used. Not all have to be permanently manned, and as long as the camera is merely in view (Not for paw enforcement reasons, but for the fact that it dont get stolen) the camera is allowed to stand alone.

Feel free to browse the YOU v/s LAW thread as well...

LINK: http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=9447

Once in the thread, at the bottom of every page, there is a "search thread" option just above the box where you can post a reply.

Feel free to search in there, as I am sure the answer is in there...somewhere... :fencelook:
