rhett, the last time I bought a S&S mag was the issue 90, march 2009, because of this problem.
My Honda was the first in the country to have the Lexus type import lights, and they were in carbon fibre, had full coil-over suspention, that cost me =/-R4500 in 2004, Mugen racecams, custom intake, polished and ported, full freeflow&exhaust, custom built by Speedspot, Dastec chip. Full ICE install, 2 of everything, amps, subs, 6x9's, supertweeters, only had 1 shuttle install, pushed 134db's. Full Veilside bodykit with carbon trim, carbon badges, and carbon interior trim...
I could go on, but the fact is, the closest I got was the readers rides in issue 39, and the only reason why I kept on buying the mag up to issue 90, was to finish my Tazz on the magazines when you stack them on the shelf.
So, I really don't think my comments are uncalled for, and my statements ring true, and that's how I feel, and thats my oppinion, and... Rant over!

I really didnt know this thanks for the info,,,maybe we should start helping the smaller mags in featuring top cars i know i will when my ride is done ,,,rather have a cover of a small mag for the people than anything els :thumbs:

Its almost been 2 years of conceptualizing, planning, discussions, fundraising, partnering, up-downs and developments on a BMW magazine for S.A.

An appropriate announcement & launch is envisaged for mid September 2011 or perhaps earlier.

If i were to lift the veil slightly, then I would say: The mag will possess the same paper quality as the BMW magazine (UK) but the layout will be like nothing you have seen in the car-publishing market...From the draft concepts that have been presented to me...i can tell you this is going to be a looker....so hold onto those subscriptions we are going to need them...

My point exactly, the reason why it was featured, is cause its the bosses car from S&S.
I dare any of you to email them with your cars specs and see if it gets featured.

No disrespect Coisman but I think you talking a bit of kak if they asked you for money to be featured.
Did you build the car with the hope of having it in the magazine? It seems like the rejection has cut you deep. Cars featured in these magazine is relative to the readers demands. They get all sort of fan mail etc and they obviously feature cars that is in their best business interest. Maybe at the time the Vtech's where outplayed to death who knows what there decision was.
If you have any pics of the car why not make a thread and we can judge if we would like to have that car be on of probably eight cars that get featured per month.

I also think this is a great idea. If we can run a forum this good with regular users and updates, why not take a bash at our own magazine?
I think there are a lot of our members that would love to help in planning, layouts, photos and so on.:thumbs:

I have every Speed and Sound from issue 4 till present ....yes out of habit maybe , but some issues are bm friendly , the rest are ok .

To start a bm mag is not easy , look at Total bm a UK mag that had a lot of editorial , each month a buying info article over 4 or 6 pages with good tips on a specific model or series . There were very good diy and technical articles as well .

Is there still a BMW South Africa quartely magazine ?
