Could it not just be smoke blown forward by a breeze after a rear wheel burnout, or reversing into the smoke after having done a regular burnout....:dunno:

Or it could be the smoke from the burning clutch

rhett, the last time I bought a S&S mag was the issue 90, march 2009, because of this problem.
My Honda was the first in the country to have the Lexus type import lights, and they were in carbon fibre, had full coil-over suspention, that cost me =/-R4500 in 2004, Mugen racecams, custom intake, polished and ported, full freeflow&exhaust, custom built by Speedspot, Dastec chip. Full ICE install, 2 of everything, amps, subs, 6x9's, supertweeters, only had 1 shuttle install, pushed 134db's. Full Veilside bodykit with carbon trim, carbon badges, and carbon interior trim...
I could go on, but the fact is, the closest I got was the readers rides in issue 39, and the only reason why I kept on buying the mag up to issue 90, was to finish my Tazz on the magazines when you stack them on the shelf.
So, I really don't think my comments are uncalled for, and my statements ring true, and that's how I feel, and thats my oppinion, and... Rant over! :)

I remember seeing that sort of blue/purple honda with 2 white stripes in the center runing from the front bumper to the rear with lexus tail lights and eyelids in front, the guy who sent those pics said more mods would be on the way depending on the finances and if the wife approves of it.

How I remember is because that Honda looked riced to me  sorry coisman

ok guys, enough with the SNS Bashing.

Theyve had plenty of modded BMW's within their covers.

Ive seen E30's, E36's, E46's and a few 5'ers.

SNS is a pretty cool mag.

I agree that a person shouldnt have to pay a fee to have their car featured but the magazine has seen a few BMW's.

Ive read the article about that M3. its actually tyre smoke from the rears blowing forward.

I buy the magazine for the sound section. recently been reading the speed section.

@Coisman - Im sure your car was feature worthy as are a few other cars on this forum.

Yepp speed and sound have had several BMW's featured icluding the BMW collection from Jack Chaplin which incl 325is, 2001, E36 M3, etc.

They reviewed a White E36 gas fed M3 N/A that outran a few Porsches.

Savspeeds Step by step development of one of the first turbo charged E36 M3's in SA. Also reviwed his trip to the UK to Turbo charge another E36 M3.

Rob Green has quite a few cars from his E36 M3 to his current E92 M3.

There has been a white turbo charge and gas fed 325is doing nearly 270km/h reviewed.

There's a gold 325is with custom sound install and engine upgrades.

Quite a few BMW's have reviwed the Sound section of the mag.

They reviewed a 335i over a few months were it was delievered to them stock standard brand new and over the months it was kittted out with BMW performance parts by BMW JSN Motors.

This is what a can remember from the top of my head.
To say that they dont review BMW's is quite unfair.

Only a lucky few have the cash to bring their cars up to the standard of being a cover car.

I wasn't going to reply to this thread as I think it's a joke. I fully agree with you about BMW's been featured. Its a cool mag and honestly the whole car modification scene wouldn't be what it is today had it not been for SnS. Just about any guy with a car knows the basics about, camshafts, nitrous, turbo's and so on, which surely wasn't the case 10 or so years ago. Yes,their info is not always 100% spot on but I think its good nonetheless. SnS: Heres to the next 10 years...

i disagree how much more info on car mods has become freely available on the net in the last 10 years? whats more the net does not just scratch the surface... you can get very detailed info when you go looking...

Funny enough I also remember this car, for the same reason. Lol. I think the black turbo iS was in that issue. I'm sure SnS also has standards and mods to cars has to be "tasteful". Something that will generally be liked or appreciated by most of their readers. Thats not to say that Coisman's car didn't have tasteful mods, but its also to do with whats hot at the moment. Example, Im sure you all remember the Fast and Furious 1 era. How mad didn't those cars look back then? To see those same cars now... eish now thats just sad.

Yes but people who aren't really interested in doing car modification most of the time won't go on the web to read up on for example: camshafts. However if theres an article on camshafts in SnS, because they purchased the mag they likely to read it and hence have a basic understanding.

Think of it this way 10 years ago, how many everyday cars had induction kits, branches and exhausts? How many mk1 golfs had motor swaps? Not many compared to today. SnS has done a lot of technicals over the years contributing to this.

if you try modify your car based on a vague understanding of how to do it you just looking for trouble... this is complex stuff simplifying it to make a retard understand will only help him make a mess of his car...

come to kzn everyone and his dog has induction kits, branches and exhausts... its been like that for way longer than 10 years... if anything i think there are less cars with free flows now days... did SnS cause this?

@Sank - Autostyle offers affordable (sometimes) replacement components (some of great quality... others... not so much) to the masses.

They have found a market in all the citigolfs, Corollas / tazz, Corsas and other econoboxes. They even sell goods for E30's and E36's. Im sure that theyve got goods for e46s and e90s nowadays.

We are looking at it from a oem point of view whilst alot of people dont care much for the stock look.

Sure SnS has had alot to do with this, but so has television. With the Fast and Furious Series and tv Shows like Overhaulin, Rides, Fine Tuning, etc, Modding cars has become something that can be done DIY (for the easier mods).

I applaud SnS on being the leader in this market.

At least theyre not really going the Max Power Magazine route.

Yeah thats right... I think i still got a copy of that Magazine.

Back in the day when SnS came out it was the coolest mag ever, these days its gone a bit mediocre.

Which section had me laughing my testicles off was the rice section :roflol: and those guys were actually proud to have their pics taken

Granted that there is an market for this kind of stuff, you find it in other counties as well, especially with regards to BMW parts, seeing as the OEM stuff is so expensive, but the problem with autostyle is that the quality of there stuff is horrendous at best when compared with the aftermarket bit found oversees, and the stuff found oversees is usually similar in price or cheaper.
