Hi everyone

SOmething I've been unable to determine for sure is whether my 2010 (LCI) e92 325i has leather seats or not. I'm pretty sure it's Leatherette, but just want to be sure.

The seats are the nice bucket-ish seats with proper bolsters and thigh-rests etc. but the material doesn't strike me as genuine leather.

I don't really care, but I want to know before I treat them. I would assume that with leatherette you just use warm water and some neutral Dove soap as leather creme would be a waste and do nothing?

Ok it worked now on my phone thanks. Says I have Leather Dakota Sports seats :)

What I find interesting is it also states I have headlight washers, and I know the squares are there but I am yet to see them operate. I'll do some checking driving home today. I think I just haven't used the windshield washers enough with lights on tbh.

e92s came with "leather" seats - dakota being the standard spec.
its basically a synthetic material with a thin leather layer bonded to the top.
the M models got better quality leather - nevada/nappa

on the headlight washers - these only work when the headlights are on and the vehicle can not be going faster than +-100kph

Thanks, that makes more sense to me because on the bolsters the seatbelt has rubbed the material a bit over the years and it just didn't look like what worn leather looks like.

So my question then is do you treat it as leather or just wash it with soap and water?

Looks like water and gentle soap is good enough. Treatment on the Dakota likely negates any creme absorption or benefit.

I typically use Turtle Wax One as a cleaning agent together with hot water.
and coat it with Gyeon leather coat ( this adds a layer of protection and keeps the 'leather' cleaner for longer)
