Space saver, spare wheel kits on X35

Hi Guys

have any of you tried to install/use a spacesaver kit on an x35?
i bought my kit from a forum member, but it seems, that it touches both the front and rear calipers on my 335 :-(
i think a spacer would resolve the issue, but where am i going to get a single hubcentric spacer?

hi, yes it is the 17" spacesaver.
Seems like the offset is the issue on the one i have :-(
i am 99% sure that a spacer would solve the issue out, but im a bit wary of using those cheapie spacers. i would prefer a hubcentric spacer with longer bolts

Is it the normal steely space-saver or the alloy type? Open to correction, but space-savers are only 17" and above - remember seeing an X5 "space-saver", that thing was massive!

Some time ago I did some research and found a site that listed all of the various space-savers that are used for various BMW models, and there are variations in terms of size etc.

Thanks Phillip, its definitely an offset issue but outlaw gave me the details of some1 that will make a single hubcentric spacer...

My hunch is, that this could be an issue with the newer style space saver where the wheel jack and spanner are seperated.

Awesome! I only more recently discovered that the front brakes on the 335i are slightly larger than the 330i which makes sense - somehow always thought that the brakes were the same front and rear on these cars like with the 330d etc. And earlier this year I was also made aware of space-savers not always fitting properly, so decided to fit it to the front and rear to test and it was just able to clear the front callipers! So with the 335i you saying it's just a case of having a spacer to clear the callipers? Therefore not diameter problem but rather the size of the calliper versus the offset of the space-saver...

Yip, the diameter is no problem because you can mount the sparewheel with no issue. I test fitted the front and it touched, so then test fitted the rear and it looked like it fitted too but I was busy painting the calipers on my car this weekend and I was using my sparewheel cos I cleant and waxed the inside of my wheels. It started to rain, so tried to move the car from the driveway into the garage and it felt like it just didn't want to budge. I thought perhaps it was the locknut, removed that bolt completely but it still didn't budge. Only when I took the spacesaver off, that's when I saw it was catching the edge of the rear caliper. I am pretty certain it'll clear with a spacer...
