So here are the extra pics of "My two BM'S" The 325 has had the cats removed and I didn't have to do anything to the engine afterwards. An independent workshop, that I have a lot of faith in, reset the ECU and the Vanos and it runs beauts. I don't think it performs any better really although it seems to rev more freely and, for sure, the fuel consumption has improved.
The X5 is the 4,4 V8 and the cats on there are right up front with a Lamda sensor just in front of the cat and one just after it on each bank. I can remove the cats without disturbing the sensors but I don't know if anything then needs to be done to the ECU. Maybe the ECU must just be reset like was done on the 325. If any of you good folks out there has any knowledge on the subject, please comment.
So, next trick is to go out and enjoy a little run maybe up to Langebaan or Paternoster for lunch. Aaagh, decisions, decisions. I'm such a spoilt brat, EISH!!!:biglol:
