So... The BMW Adventure is now written off.

A lady and a truck sideswiped my dad on the R300 near Bellville. Bike was jammed between the bumper and front tyre of the truck. Paniers ruined but my dads laptop etc etc was all fine. :dropjaw:

My dad was stuck on the bike pinned between the ground and tyre.

He tore some ligamants and broke a rib and got some hectic grazes. Otherwise he was perfectly fine. He reckons if it were not for the metal bull bars and the boxer engine it would be a different situation now.

He isnt planning on replacing it...

I understand your dads passion for bikes. Awesome collection. Biker myself, once the bug bites you're hooked. Dream bike is Ducati Streetfighter. It's an absolute beast.

Aaah old post this.

He has since not re-purchased another adventure, but rather purchased a Suzuki B-King which I like to call the "Transformer" bike as the front looks like Optimus Prime.

He also added a MK6 Golf GTI to the family in April which currently hasnt even been run in so we dont have space for any more toys. :fencelook:

Thanks for the comments guys!

Just to let you know, instead of buying another BMW Adventure my dad has decided to go back to his wild days and has bought a Honda off roader/scrambler type thing.

Personally I think he is mad.
