Software Integration E89X-09-09-516

I've searched online on this topic but can't seem to find any real information on it.

I was at BMW yesterday to buy some oil, so the service consultant scanned my key. In the printout she gave me. I noticed that it said 'service integration level: E89X-09-09-516. NEW Integration Level available: YES.'

What does this mean? Is that the ECU software? and how would we know what updates the new version has? So that if its worth upgrading then I could get it done.

Software updates are not only ECU related but also other control units get updated i.e. gearbox and so on.....

Ask them at your next service to do the update if your car is still on MP and you don't want to spend the extra cash to do it inbetween!

They will ague that there is no need to do the update.... they always do but from my experience its always a good thing to have latest software installed.... its sometimes only small improvements but that is what counts :idea:
