I can't believe that people you actually fit something like koenic springs to and M3 :nonono: typical SA, am sure that drop is 50% due to the lower springs and 50% due to collapse.
I might also recommend you have a look at the coilovers calypso have on his e36, this is also a viable option for M3 suspension.

Seem like you have your work cut out for you. About that vibration/ shudder it could even be tyres. Unless I missed the part where you replaced them.
A friend had a similar problem on his Ranger after Ford replaced allot of parts at there cost. Any way in a nut shell a guy told us in a bar nogals to change the tyres as a test and guess what it went away.

Okay, so....
New shocks and springs are in - car's easier to get in and out of, way more comfortable to drive, the knocking in the right front is gone, and the car feels fantastic at low speeds.
The shimmy over 80 km/h is still there ever so slightly, but MUCH less pronounced - I can now actually do 120 km/h quite comfortably, except for a bit of a resonant vibration, which now only seems to be coming from the front of the car, especially when on the power or when braking - pull it onto the wheel alignment machine, feel the right front wheel, and there's a knock - control arm balljoint is stuffed, and seems to be missing the retention bracket in the bottom. *facepalm*
So, while the LCA bushings seem to be okay, I'm guessing balljoint replacement is in order - unless someone could recommend a full aftermarket control arm assembly with balljoint?
BMW wants R650 just for the bloody retention bracket..
Also, the right front wheel is tucked in under the car - it sits probably 20 mm further inwards than the left... WTF? Could anyone shed some light as to why? Control arm doesn't look to be bent - but will have it checked and replaced if it is - I'm clueless as to suspension though, so what else determines the offset of the hub and wheel assembly?

I've left the car there overnight AGAIN - not taking it from there until every little thing on that suspension is sorted and working properly. I'm so glad the worst of the vibration is gone - at least that points to the propshaft being okay.
Oh, and a couple of pics with the stock suspension (pardon the blackberry quality and the filth - there's polish residue and dusty raindrops all over the bloody car) - I almost prefer the look of the car like this - the tyres don't look like they're trying to scurry for cover under the wheel arches.
Note the front wheel tucking into the arch - whereas the front left looks to be perfectly in line with the rear and flush with the arch.
Forgot to mention - I've at least gotten around to fitting a rear diffuser... undecided as to whether I like the carbon fibre wrap (especially the bubbling in the nook of it) - wil probably end up pulling it off - but first order of business on the rear now is getting rid of that bloody Brakpan exhaust tip.

Glad to hear you're almost getting there. I'm clueless aswell when it comes to suspension so no comment there from me.
As for the exhaust a while ago someone stole a gutter from my house and it looks like you found it thanks.:grin:
I really hope you got this car at a very good price cause it looks like its costing a pretty penny to get sorted. Keep up the good work :thumbs:
