Car is back, at last. Rims are now straight, I believe, and refurbished. 
However, the vibration is still there. :bawling: I can feel a little vibration at about 40 and again at 75 upwards, and it gets quite bad. Vibration during braking as well, but that's probably related to discs and pads. Any chance my vibration problem is related to bad vibration at 75-90km ? Maybe the suspension check missed a problem? Any suggestions on where to look next? Thanks.

Gearbox mounts were perfect when we did the clutch, so was the center bearing, werries checked it with me.
What concerns me is, have you heard the squeek yet on the rear under heavy load, i still say its a bush,
Did they put the car on a rattle machine, or did they just check with the old "put a crowbar in and see if it moves" routine...\

Haven't really heard the squeak yet, since the vibration is drowning out most of the other noises and is also the thing that's annoying me the most. This vibration was there right from the start and on your list of things to fix, so I'm trying to locate and fix it.
The suspension check that was done was more a case of poking around under the car to see if anything is broken or not attached where it's supposed to go. If the prop shaft check is negative, I'll investigate this avenue again.
Located and to be installed:
* air box / pollen filter, both to be cleaned first - any suggestions on what to use and what not?
* correct wheel bolts;
* window washer bottle cap;
* some items for the tool kit in boot.
Still to find:
* lock nuts;
* washer jet;
* rest of tool kit in boot;
* front & back cup holders;
* driver side weather strip / rubber;
* passenger side sun visor - the one I have is the wrong size/configuration;
* cover for window control panel situated on driver door;
* carpets, maybe from www.lovemycar.co.za

Rick: many thanks for the referral to Frank! Frank in turn referred me to Colin at Propshaft Engineering in Elsies River. After they battled to get the exhaust off (bolts were seized) to gain access to the drive shaft, I just received the damage report, along with a comment that MacGyver must have worked on this car at some stage:
- Universal joint: not a BMW one, but Mercedes Benz -- seems like a continuation of the wheel bolts saga;
- Bolts & nuts holding the Universal joint: different sizes;
- Centering sleeve/bush (gearbox): busted;
- Centre bearing: broken;
- CV joint (diff): worn, but fixable.

Bloody hell...

Bush was busted and replaced. Universal joint (the Merc one) was slightly warped. Non-standard spec bolts thrown away and 14mm bolts used. CV joint dust cover replaced and greased up. Centre bearing replaced. This is what was left of the centre bearing:
Vibration is mostly gone now. Next up: skim discs (if possible), fit OEM pads and put the redstuff pads in the bin.

So you driving it like an M5 yet ?
Not yet, first need to sort out the brakes. And then find the rest of the squeaks. Was out visiting tonight and on the way back some ricer car tried everything to tempt me for a dice. You know, the type with half a drain pipe at the back. Wonder if they really knew what monster they were poking with a stick?
