Uneventful, which is good. Mostly stuck to the speed limits and tried to get to know the car. 11.2l/100km according to the onboard computer, which I guess isn't bad at all for the monster under the hood. Will have more fun with it later on. First need to fix a few things.

You can either go Bilstein or ATE pads. A few other options where discussed here http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=26290

I got ATE, apparently they're better - don't want to skip on quality on an M5.

Congrats!! Nice to buy a car from a fellow forum member, particularly when you know all its foibles from the start. I must be honest, I was sorely tempted to go for it myself. But sadly I do 10-20,000kms a month, and that would destroy its value way too quickly.
