I wish I could say the same about mine, it caused havoc.

Lazy Spool, Increased Temps via the hidden service menu, Stuttering, so much white smoke especially after freeway trips and hot starts I actually pulled over thinking a Turbo Seal had gone. Car was using more diesel, car felt like it couldn’t breath.

Cut mine out and all of it was solved, at 95 000km.

Now it just puffs a bit of black and gets on with the job.

I was looking through BMWFANS part catalogue and it looks like i may well have a DPF. I don't know why I thought i didn't have one.:dunnoanymore:
I'll have to physically check.
I've never noticed any regen ever.
This opens a whole new avenue.

The E65 730d has a Dpf right after the turbo. Best thing to do is to remove completely or hollow it out. I had a 63mm downpipe on mine and I removes all the boxes from the exhaust and had one 400mm box at the rear. It's not loud at all and frees the turbo so it can spool properly. :smilebounce:

Is it a simple remove or gut it out on the DPF delete? will it need any reprogramming?
Shouldn't a clogged DPF throw a code? I'm getting no faults on those components.

I do yes, and what I was getting at is that both block at higher mileage, both revealing the same symptoms. But anyway, most car manufacturers refer to cats and DPF's as one and the same, but since we getting fussy I went to double check (assuming I was being an idiot cos well, it happens):

That would be because most modern diesels are fitted with one part that acts as both.

My car has the Cat as in the picture that SMRTARSX1posted earlier. The pic of the DPF that i posted is off the catalogue from my cars VIN. Can I have a Cat and a DPF or is the "cat" that i can see behind my turbo the DPF?

You have a Dpf on yours straight off the turbo. It's easy enough to gut, but you will need to add a mini cat if they have sensors. Software is still the best to make sure you get no errors

I've since learnt that at least 4 fully functional glowplugs are necessary to initiate dpf regen. Hmmm
