Ok after i recieved a e-mail to arrange a test drive. I decided to arrange one. Well it was for this past Wendsday at 10:00. Now I went through the effort and drove all the way there. Arrive on the hour.

Well waiting about 5min I knew something is wrong and they are not getting me straight awnsers. Aventually a sales man comes to me(im forbidden on forum to mention names). And ask me to walk with him to his desk. He starts to tell me that someone else has taken the car to another dealer and offers a ride in an 340i. Well I said that is not the aim of the objective for I had a specific car that I reqeusted a 330d. After a chat he said he would contact me and send the vehicle to my residence or work.

Well needless to say no further comunication. I then went to there Facebook page and I am shocked to see some of the horror storys with no reply from thier side. All I can say "a Leppard does not change its spots". So people be warned when going there for they do not live up to thier adverts on the radio.

You're not the only one. I was dealing with them for about a week and a half on getting a mineral grey 2013 320i.. I was waiting for them to send photos of the car (As Im currently not in Cape Town), and in the mean time was finalizing my payment/finance.

I was one step away from paying my deposit.. but was not going to do so until viewing the car.. The sales person dealing with me was suddenly sick for about 3 days, and after trying again and again, I finally got hold of the manager of the used car sales department, who admitted to me that they no longer had the car. He said that upon inspection, it was not fit to sell. I believe they actually already sold it to somebody else.. but anyway.. to leave it so late is quite shocking.

I then got a call today from the initial sales person apologizing about it. I told him I was getting a car from somewhere else now, and he was trying very hard to find a car to sell me.. too bad for them, they lost out. Quite a poor show.

However, their finance lady was the fastest and most efficient ones I've ever worked with.

Yeah same here. They had an ad for 323i e90 online for a week. Even being bumped to the top daily.

I called and on the first day it was uploaded it was sold. I probably called 1-2hrs after it was uploaded. Called them the following day sayinf the ad is still up and being bumped up to the top. This happened for 4 days. I actually saw the car one for more than a week yet it was sold the first day.

OK just check now and the damn car is still up for sale. It's been there since September this year. Guaranteed if you called it's sold. The price as increased and so has the km.

Yes its shocking how bad they have gotten. They probably have to much customers it seems to me. Oh I remember the time with the so called deal maker thing they had going. What allot of bull and time wasting.

Im also Surprised how many people have responded in such a short tim since posting it at about 16:00 just on this Forum alone. Just imagine how many other people out there have been made unhappy by them. They are pulling the brand name under and think nothing of it.

I also know of a woman that baught a VW Tigaun and man has she had problem after problem and it was an accident car she took it to the AA to verify it. Thats really really bad.

i had an issue with my e90 (rear brake squeel ) which became annoying as you can hear it when driving slower and around turns ,

i had to take the car back there THREE TIMES and the issue was still there , they eventually replaced the bearings and hub ,rear discs etc. but the squeel remained ....

not to mention getting up at the crack of dawn to be in the city just to get the car in the service line , although their staff were really helpful and friendly they just could n't get the issue sorted .

then i booked the car in a at tygervalley ,who changed the rear door locks :clapper: to fix the brake squeel ...

i ended up at smg canal walk ,got what i asked for left happy cause no more brake squeel ,turns out the handbrakes just needed adjustment ... smg canal walk ftw.

Ok SMG got into contact with me. They were rather persistent for I did not want to deal with them anymore and avoided there calls. There customer relations are trying to undo that was done. She said they had a call from BMW SA. Maybe BMW SA is starting to pressure their dealerships for customer service. So I told them next week would be a good time. I ask myself why give them another chance? Well for some reason I can be a forgiving person if the approach is right. So lets see what happens next week.

Keep us posted on your progress. A few years ago this forum started a customer satisfaction index of dealerships performance and it allowed forum members to rate such services with the aim to promote customer efficiency etc.

Perhaps this is worth a revisit.

In my experience i have also found that sometimes there is just (one person) at a dealership delivering a bad service and letting the dealership & brand down. If such actions are remedied by dealerships quickly they would regain my business.

After my incident there, I moved on to SMG South Coast. The first guy I contacted about a car I was interested in wasn't very friendly, and I thought "here we go again.." but he put me over to another sales person, who goes by Vinesh, and he's been great to work with. For example, he promised me during the day that he'd let me know how the motor vehicle check goes etc. Comes 5pm and I've heard nothing.. I thought "typical.." then he calls me at about 5.30pm, apologised for calling late. Says he wanted to call earlier but the mechanics weren't done yet, so he waited around a bit longer until they were, then called me. Really good service, anybody else would have just left me in the dark until I would have had to call them again on Monday.

So it is often very dependent on who you work with.

Ok lets give some feedback.

Well i must say they did make a very good comeback in regards to the test drive. Due to the fact that they sliped up I had a 220i convertable for the whole day and today I had a 320d. I must say the New 320d is more responsive aspecially in Sport mode. For their effort ill give 5 out of 5 but overall from the start where all the disappointments were ill have to give 3 to a 4. If they were just more responsive from the start. It seems to me the Ladies handeld the situation much much better.

Once again thanks SMG and their customer service department for saving thier name. Please try to keep it up. I wont be able to forgive a 4th incident.
