Hi guys

I wanna change my 320i single exhaust tail piece to a double. Is this advisable? Will changing the complete silencer system make an improvement on the cars performance?

Is there space for another muffler and to fit a Y pipe to connect to mufflers? Hooks for additional hangers? Is your car an e90?

Two boxes wont make a power difference; will only make the car more heavier than it already is.

Cheapest mod for power gains is to remove the cats. You score on acceleration and receive a better note to the ears :)

To decat, can this be done by an exhaust fitment centre, what does it involve? My car is still under motorplan, almost expired, should i rather wait for motorplan to expire ?

Rather wait and get it done by a reputable shop after MP expires. Where you situated?

Nice car man.
There are a number of places that can do this.
I know SAnjeev at Powerflow could help you out, he is based near Greenstone mall.

And wait for MP to expire before you touch a thing on the car.
And make sure that before MP expires that the car is THOROUGHLY checked out.

Powerflow in Bellville is good. Fuel consumption will go up after the decat but should be marginal if the car is tuned as well. Always remember to demand your catalytic converter back - its an expensive item in the newer model cars.

Sorry to be a pain but i don't see anyone asking, what exactly is your goal? Are you looking to add power? Or is it just for the purpose of the look of the car?

Theres no reason you can't have both. Just asking. Decat depends if you have cats in the exhaust and the branches. To take the cats out the branches is obviously more expensive. Looking at between R600 - R1000 decat of the exhaust. Branches not sure.

Powerflow can hook you up with a Y split twin exhaust if you prefer. Just rather look for a brushed or stainless steel Y tip than those chrome ones. Find the chrome ones with the Powerflow engraving to be more appealing to the Honda and nissan crowd. Doing the Y tip will be much less expensive than trying to run twin pipes front to back. It will add more weight and not gain much.

And most importantly wait till Motorplan expires!!
