Hi:wave:, People.

Just wanted to know if you guys have any simple tips on modding a E36 M3. Just to get a bit more power out of the engine.

Things that might help with throttle response, acceleration, fuel consumption, etc.

Enjoy ur car 1st...
get used to the power and handling... after 4-6months if the car is still running 100%
then think of modding

Small stuff

Kish bud, a must and the best start for a E36 M3 3.2
Remove the cats like M_pow said, change the cat back exhaust to a Duel TNT 63mm mild steel with a Lumina SS aftermarket back box, BMC replacement filter and a DASTEK CHIP!!!
you look at around R6000 and you will give it chest hair, if it had the hair will curl but believe me its worth the while and a good start!
If R6k is a bit steep!
Start like this in this order.. month 1 - change filter
month 2 - remove cats
month 3 - Change back part exhaust
month 4 - Do the chip!

Most common problem with M3's are traction!! sort traction out by getting some good rubber!! I ran a 13.6 with KENDA KR20's and they were only R999 a tyre!!! they are awesome tyres for the money worth!!!!

And then learn to launch your car properly!!! I cant name alot of cars that can launch with a properly launched M3..

you can even start with the diff mod!!! But ill start the cosmetic route first.. just makes every thing better! power, consumption, sound etc.. so its all in one!! Diff is just boom and bob is your uncle but it affects consumption quite a bit! As a Stock M3 gets about 10kms to the liter, and a chipped, zorst, filter M3 gets about 12.5!
Before diff change after all my crazy mods i got 14km's to the liter when on 130km/h cruize control!
Now its around 11.5-12 again on freeway, 7 in town and 1-2km's to the liter at full throttle!! :floggin:

Easiest mod to do :

OBD uploaded software (FRC or Xede),
exhaust (stock back box)
induction piping feeding into the original airbox and stock airfilter.

I have run 13.9sec with that setup with pump fuel and Conti3 street tyres

Rather learn to drive the car properly and learning where to change etc thats the first step.

To go a bit more faster , hardware mods have to be done.

thats what the forum is for , aiding each other out.

Dont be a stranger , mod the car and let us know how it goes.

Remember more mods , does not always mean you going faster.
