Why did you have a painters mask?

Dene is a bit of a health freak. And when Matt explained to her that the cats had been deleted on the car, and that they no longer stop dirty Co2 fumes, she freaked out and thought she was about to be poisoned on the trip back. She made me stop at a Builders warehouse and buy her that mask so she could breathe. HAHAHAHA

:biglol:

LOL, and I am guessing you didn't explain this to her, good tactic! Our cars are toxic for the female passengers, they therefore need masks to protect them, and then also keeps the interior quieter too! :fencelook:

Well, just a thought... :fencelook: :roflol:

this is my strategy:

enter corner a bit fast = loud noise
enter next corner a bit faster = loud noise or quiet

if loud noise continues keep going faster and faster while laughing till it goes away

I know dyno numbers dont mean much, but which dyno in capetown was jezebel dyno'd on?

the shall we say "standard" m3 dyno in cape town at zeemax, see's an average of about 220kw flywheel.

that is what, 180-190 wkw?

250 is A LOT more than 180-190, in a N/A car.

"factory spec" is stated at 252kw engine/flywheel

just wondering :dunno:

Think last time it was dyno'd was at G&C. Both work @ flywheel and i found a 3kw and 10NM difference between them and Zeemax.

Hmmm. I will check up with Matt, I was told those figures were on the wheels, not sure where he dynoed. I know he dynoed at Zeemax with the Supercharger and that got 355kw or something crazy.

So do all the Dyno's down there do flywheel figures?

Ok.

So, I've dropped Jezebel off at Savspeed to inquire about the ticking noise that is irritating the shit out of me. Matt told me about it, and in Cape Town it wasn't as loud as it is now. Seems since coming up from Cape Town the sound has increased. I've looked online and found many e46 M3 owners with similar problems. Some have video's showing their problem, some sorted it out with a Shim replacement/Valve adjustment. According to Gotch and Cooper, they believe the valve/shims need adjusting or replacing, but SAV reckons it could be the exhaust Camshaft itself as he has seen this problem a million times.

I spoke to Shaun from Tune Tech but he wants nothing to do with the car. He says if its a Camshaft that needs replacing, I must ship Jezebel back to cape town and let Gotch and Cooper sort it out as its their problem. So, yeah, great help Shaun. Thanks for Nothing.

Anyway, Sav is happy to take a look and we both hope its just the shims that need replacing.

I'll keep you guys in the loop.

PS. The sound is very similar to the video below, But it did not sound like this in Cape Town, only since being in JHB.

if the camshaft needs doing you might want to look at putting an SC camshaft this will make a big difference when you go FI

Didn't Burgy also have some performance cams on special?

thats an option for now but they wont work for the SC because with an SC you need a long exhaust cam and with NA you need a long intake cam...
