Should I sell Or Shouldn't I............

Hi Guys,

I am thinking of selling My 2011 X3 F25 2.0d but it will only be on this Forum if I do as it will be a very reluctant sale based on medical reasons as my wife has a spinal condition and I need that pull out on the M/sport seat my X3 is not a M/sport, so going to "maybe" buy another Forum members X5 as it will afford her more comfort.

My 2011 X3 F25 2.0d is in pristine condition with only 71,600km on board, the M/plan ended Aug last Year and we did every conceivable preventative maintenance on it through the M/plan before it expired as I know the workshop manager at a BMW dealer here in CPTN, so from the timing chain which constitutes pulling the motor out was done, new rotors new discs all the way around all filters etc ……… I have documented every thing I have done on this car and at 59 I was going to retire with it but now with my wife's condition as I said I will need that extra comfort as we cannot drive far now!

I have spent a lot of money on this car and will unfortunately not get it back but one of those things …….. this car is spotless as well as OEM 19inch mags and tyres which cost me R30k so yup really thinking hard on this one!!!

Sorry to hear about your wife bud.. Maybe a few pictures of your car and the ballpark price you are looking at?

That would help in deciding whether you are better off selling and buying the X5, or just sourcing Msport seats from an F25, if that is all you are looking at.. If you want the 'upgrade', then sell, it is.

Hey bud,

Sprry to hear about her condition, that is low mileage and a great vehicle whit a lot of money put into it. I agree with KPM, lets check the pics etc and then see from there for a possible solution.

Thanks guys, as said this will be a difficult one for me but the X5 seat is larger and as said that pull out "stukkie" just works for her, I have looked at 2 front seats but will have to bond my home over again to install :=):

I would not sell her though for less than R260k, as said she is pristine so yup maybe I will put on the Forum over the week-end but soooooooo reluctant as I don't know what I am going to get in similar condition :blueCry:

I find it so hard to imagine that you can't get good second hand sport seats for the F25.. Have you looked at a few scrapyards? I understand the car just came off plan and is in excellent condition, with low mileage, which is why you might've looked at new seats but for cost effectiveness, I know which way I would go.. Especially given the maintenance done on your current car :fencelook:

You would be able to find an X5 in that price range but unfortunately, it will be with much higher mileage than your current car.. If you want to replace like for like, I assume you would have to add some cash from your pocket. That said, if I was looking for an X5, this is what I would look at:

Exactly where I might be going as I only buy and sell on and from the Forum :=):

Take it to a car upholsterer like Mcarthy and ask them to modify your existing seat to your spec.
