Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone has bought this short shifter :

I've got the standard one which is very tall. Does anyone know how much it costs ? I see this is not the same as the Msport shifter.

That's a nice looking shifter... Looks like the standard one, only shorter. Not sure of pricing but to give an indication, the msport shifter is around R1700...

Yes, I'm trying to find this shifter as I think it's much better than the standard one. I don't like the Msport shifter, I think it looks hideous (no offense to Msport users).

I bought the Msport knob specifically cos I like it... :bat: We're going to have issues...

Just kidding... :) Each to their own. I like the one in the pic.

Anarchy, that short shifter only fits the E36 models. Anyways, I think I'll phoned BMW and find out. Thanks for your help Andrew.

i think its more like 4k for the short shifter kit
and the gearknob has a grey suede around the bottom and the gearknob itself looks very similar to the one on the RS4

There is a difference between a short shift kit and just a shorter shift knob. This post is just about the shift knob.

Got a price, it's R380. :thumb: Just a question to those more knowledgeable. This is unrelated to this topic but I find that when I put in petrol in my E90 320i, just R100 worth, I find throttle response to be weird. There are times when nothing much happens when I put the foot down in first. There are other times where there is a delayed response, like a blip in the response time and then the car accelerates quicker. Why is this ? The car was accelerating just fine before I put in petrol.

Could it be the type of petrol I'm putting in ? I'm just using regular unleaded 95. Is there a special petrol that I should be using ? R100 is not a lot of petrol but I've found a big difference in the performance (ie noticeably worse) after putting it in. Any thoughts,

What should I be using though ? I just ask for the regular unleaded. If you can please tell me I would appreciate it.

oh ok....i'm in Pretoria and the cars up here run mostly on '93 but i noticed my car does the same thing on 93 and BP 95. i only use shell Vpower 95 and the problem went away...try using shell and see what happens?
