Service Time

Hi

So our BMW is going for its Inspection 2 service at Auto Atlantic tomorrow. I really hope I get beter service from their workshop than what I received from the service consultants......

Just another question, how do you know that the dealer really replaces all the parts that they should be replacing? They may charge for it on the invoice, but was it really done...

I will give feedback after a couple of days.

Cheers

Take a black pen and mark all the components with a single dot.

However, I doubt any dealership such as BMW would do that, as you would not put their dealership license at risk for the cost of an oil filter.

Now what they will do is replace 10 components that dont need to be replaced,

The reason I was asking is we have some recurring problems with the car and a couple of times they had to replace parts that was just replaced a month or three ago.

I think it would be plain stupid and unprofessional of dealerships not to replace parts yet charge you for it...but it has happened before. Hope it goes well at AA.

I also hope they do a proper job, I get very anxious when I need to leave any of our cars at the dealers!

Yup this is more often the case......

What you can also do is just take note of the serial number on each of the parts that will be replaced, or just as the dealer to give you all the stuff that they have removed from the car during the inspection.

My friends father did that with his 540i a few years ago at Pinnacle Auto. He marked all the parts that BMW quoted him on replacing. 4 days later and an invoice of over R10K, the first thing he did was open the bonnet to check if the items on the invoice were replaced. He found 4 out of 6 things weren't replaced and immediately notified the manager. Another 3 days later, a dismissed technican and those 4 parts were replaced :=):

I have heard from people who has experienced that from other dealerships but not from BM but u never know, use LZ's method to avoid this!

Hi

Well inspection 2 service is done, BUT they have to replace a shit load of parts on the car. Total bill comes to R42 000.00.

Must say the service received from Galeed was very good.

The car will most probably go in early January to have all the parts replaced!

Cheers
