Hy guys I just got my bmw 320 I 2006 , I would like to know if the service intervals are correct in the pics attached or if they have been fiddled with because to me they seem rather high :-/

Just taken my E90 for an oil service today.
My next service is in 15000kms and next oil service is in the next 25000kms.
My car will get new oil every 10000kms as to what BMW suggest, its way to long in my opinion. Yours seem very long, phone BMW and see what they suggest.

Thats way too long. Both KM wise and time wise. If your car isn't doing the KM between services it should still be serviced atleast once a year

Does not look right to me! It's as if the service indicators were reset two years in the future! I would have to take a look at my car's service book to verify this.

But, the oil service in 25k km, not 38k km or more!! The general service interval is every 2 years and based on the lowest mileage service item. Brakes usually have a fairly high mileage if they are new.

I would make enquiries with the dealer that you bought the car from to clarify all of this!

Last recorded service was at 34000 km picked the car up on 49000km so next service I calculated should be 59000km but with this reading I'm doubtful to run it to that so first thing tomorrow I'm booking it in for checking and oil service. So all said and done the cbs systems on my car have been fiddled with. I did ask for service records before I got the car even took the key to bmw to check out and they told me all is well and now I'm doubting both bmw and the dealers just pray nothing is damaged by this issue :-(

Sorry for the hijack but one thing that really bothers me is BMWs long service intervals, if under motorplan can you have an oil change done half way (yearly or km wise) guess they won't mind if you pay but has anyone done this?

My cars oil was changed every 10 000kms from new. While it's not half it's still good (diesel is 15k kms).

I tried to educate myself on. Y the long service intervals and I found its because bmw use a fully synthetic motor oil but still don't change the facts. All engines I have ever known have been serviced at 10 to 15000km no matter how good the oils are. I'm beginning to think that maybe this is y the n46 motors and n56 motors are having problems such as lifter rattle and stem seals breaking down who knows just my opinion. :s

Was this done at BMW (oil change) and did you just pay out of pocket for these, thanks

Yeah it was done at bmw. I'm not sure what's bmws time frame on oil? It seems to have been done once a year. So I'm not sure if they do it yearly as it should? They probably paid out of pocket. Bought the car from a dealer so I never spoke to the previous owner

The lengthy service intervals are more likely to just cause sludge build-up! The sort of mileage that my cars do means that they would only be serviced every TWO years! That's way too long between oil changes! And I don't care how good the oil is, 25k km is too long too! I DIY change my cars' oil every year which is roughly every 10k km. So basically a mid interval service.

I would clarify with the agents since this is clearly not right, but if it were me, I would have them change the oil now to play safe, especially since there seems to be a question mark regarding the service history. It's kind of in motorplan's best interest to ensure that the car's maintenance is up to date!

service indicators can be set/reset/adjusted without hooking the vehicle up to diagnostics, so it's very plausible that someone could have fiddled or cleared them somehow. I say take it to bm and just ask them to correct the values per the service history on their system as you cannot understand the current values (car is on mp it should reflect on their system).

Just my 2c worth

The synthetic oil can theoretically last for a long time IF it was running in a clean environment which has not been contaminated by fuel.

Change oil and filter every 10000km.

Your pocket will thank you
