Service indicator - how soon to book it in?

Hello folks

This morning, I see the service indicator comes on at start up, followed by a 1700km sign as well. I am going to assume I should book a service before this 1700km is up, but is there any harm in delaying the service?

I had the similar question this week and spoke to Duncan Ross in Midrand... He said to me no there is nothing that will cut out and or ........

Cause i will be driving to BFN tmorrow and then the car will be 1000km over the service km for oil service... Car is only going in next week thursday ! he said to me that the Guys sometimes drive it into a negative -1000km so over service ...

Its not like the GTI that cuts out if over service.

If it's still under warranty/motor plan you will have to be careful. I think the dealer allows a maximum of 1000km over the service indicator.

this is what i was advised by my dealership too.

you can take your car in no sooner than 1000km before and no later than 1000km after.
