its crazy to ask fuel consumption on a car like that...
If you have to ask you can't afford it :rollsmile:

I back your opinion 100% Rick, but in reality it is also very difficult to buy a car like this when the shoe is on the other foot.
Gumtree repeatedly and frequently entertains us with its "gems" so it is reasonable to be skeptic of any potential purchase from a complete stranger.

Well then I'll only consider selling it to a fanatic.

I showed the guys detailed pics of the engine work and receipts and they like... "you photoshopped this"....... Argh... idiots

Rick :thumbs::thumbs:
I bought a e30 last year then someone rode in front of me . The car has been standing by me and plenty guys want this or that ( seats and interior are very good ) so they offer like 2000 for the car .(bonnet , left fender ,headlights,rad etc stuffed ) so I rather give it away to someone I know than sell it to someone who will sell the parts off at mad prices and make a killing . When I tell the prospective buyer this he thinks I have a screw loose .
I am busy cleaning the e36 boot - all covers out -then wash and polish wheel well and boot - then screwball would worry about some stupid thing !! :argh:

Good day

For what it's worth I bought a 540 from Rick in August to date no issues with the car, in point of fact he helped me get the car through road worthy, AFTER I had paid & took delivery.

There wil never be complete piece of mind when buying an older car, but it's as close as damit when buying from Rick.

For the record I hope Rick keeps the car for at least two years as I would realy like to have one again. This one & FordKoppie's are the ones to have.

(Want to swop Rick:fencelook:)

You have no idea,:ty::inlove:

I speak under correction but I think it was Fordkoppie that said it best, 540's are for drivers, M5's are for pilots.:fencelook:

LoL at this thead :rofl: notice how all the guilty people are saying "I hope its not me you referring to" :lmoa:

Totally agree with rick though.... when buying an M car, last thing that should be on your mind is fuel consumption. I dont see people under the M section complaining about consumption with their e92 M3's, e39 M5's, E60 M5's, .......

OK I Know ALL about this...

To be honest the only times I have not been buggeref around is when someone from the Fanatics site calls or enquires....

My first question now when someone calls is "where did you see my car" if the answer is "gumtree" I am sceptical from the start.

BTW, looks like my car is staying in the fanatic family and will be with the new owner soon... We chatted and once he has it in his possession... it will be the big reveal...

Now to leave you guys wondering who has made the purchase :fencelook:

I agree with your sentiment, rick, i am at bmw no 17 now and went through a lot of "hassles" because I cannot live with any bmw for longer than possibly one year max. I just want to go and own as much as possible different models and most of the time gets hammered by newbies and old hands alike who are all out for a bargain/ steal.

Luckily one does not have an urgency to sell (financial reasons..etc) except to obtain another bmw, which seems the perception nowadays, hence a couple of chancers on your doorstep now and then. You will, however, be able to see right through those types, and just send them packing!

I had someone recently trying to basically make me almost to donate my rims to him, him being informed of rim rash, etc beforehand, still coming with "degrees of rim rash in relation to repair cost"!wtf?!!

My donation to this rant.
