Hi there...that's a kak one but at least everyones ok...
My advise to you is that the damage does not seem that bad...have the car repaired by a non BMW approved agent....there are many awesome panel shops around...might seem crazy but when you want to trade or sell later you will be amazed what BMW will offer you for your car with a comment recorded even though it was repaired by them...this from experience...:thumbs:

Damm!!! I have authorization from my insurance to take the car to a bmw approved panel shop already. Wonder if it will be possible to change:huh:
Has any used auto alpina in springs before? What is the chances of the dealer not logging the comment, seeing its just cosmetic damage? What could go wrong, if I send to a non authorized shop?

Just some feedback on the repair

Fetched my baby after 10 days, how i missed her.

At first my insurance did not want to replace the splitters, seeing i didn't declare them. But after one or two calls and emails, they instructed the repair dealer to install, the good thing is they put the original, i'm impressed.

The only downside is that they replaced one damaged fog, and the other one is dull, are there any suggestions on which product to use to retore the other.

Try Megs headlight restorer. Think there's also one from Turtle Wax which is quite good. If all else fails, just buy another new one.:thumbs:

If the fogs are made with glass it will take some elbow grease and many hours to get the finish perfect. Price a new fog then make the decision. If its made out of plastic then some fine wet sandpaper and polish will do the trick and won't need much elbow grease

Even if its glass, you can remove it, take it to a panel shop, they will use cutting compound to abrade, then polish it up to "glass finish".

trick though is that it may look a lot better than it currently does, but may never be a 100% match.

Best to check what a brand new one will cost and take it from there.
