Scunick's E39 523i Touring | Pimping Ze Touring

How many of you are reading this in a German Accent? :roflol:

The E39 Touring, a rare breed of space, luxury and style! Today I share with you some of the work we are completing on Scunick's Touring, Project Pimp Ze Touring.

To begin with here is the car when Nick got it, a lovely specimen!

Of course, the mag wheels are BBS and suit the car brilliantly, however for a long time I have been begging Nick to consider an E39 M5 front end just to finish off the look and well lets just say nothing ever stays the same once you hit the slippery slope that is modding!

First to arrive is a E39 M5 Bumper and Fog-Lights to match.

The bumper is currently at our Repair Shop to be sprayed, so more updates on that soon.

The car itself is at ART having some loose ends sorted and then will come in for the following:

- New Carpets in black on order
- Chrome window trim sprayed in Satin Black
- Door trim/chrome smoothed and also sprayed in Satin Black to match the M5 Front Bumper
- Black Kidney Grills

A simple, subtle project aimed at giving an otherwise fantastic car that edge, that little touch of madness. :joy:

Those wheels look lost and with the M5 bumper coming in, it will look more out of place.

It doesn't have that wow factor.

I dont know hey. It looks pretty cool in real life. thing is its a daily and its for hauling kiddies, you dont want ur kids driving in a pimpmobile:rollsmile: its subtle and understated, I like it. its just that touch of something different to make it your own while still leaving it "normal"

Hi Mike

I am faced with a similar issue with my E46 - I do not like the chrome trim around the windows. So I trying to decide what to do, do you remove it to spray it ? What paint do use to paint them with.

Otherwise my 318's are black already and I might just have them swapped over ?

Rather get the black window trim and swap it on, if you spray it them it will chip off over time due to stones. I made this mistake on the silver 330i...
Paint won't stick properly to chrome, just like when you try spray your kidney grills black and a few weeks later they look like shit...

The black trim is no worry as it is being sprayed with the same Automotive Paint used on a car's paintwork and will have a very thick layer of matte clear coat afterwards.

If you have chrome trim fear not, its a easy mod to do and you dont need to remove it to spray it.

Ze Touring loses it bling! | Chrome "Shadowlined"

Progress on this beast has been slow, the car has been in and out of the workshop receiving new Lower Control Arms, gearbox goodies and and and and....

Finally we got it back and booked in for the chrome to get some love, or rather to spray it black! All door chrome trim, kidneys and window trim was sprayed!

As above, thanks to the new bumper the chrome led trimmings had to go, our repair team got onto the job and sprayed the trim in satin/matte black to match the new trimmings on the newly sprayed M5 Bumper!

Now all thats needed is for the M5 Bumper to be fitted (this week still!) and for a thorough detail - Note the blacked out kidneys too!

My apologies for the time stamps on the pictures, I forgot to switch it off.

More soon!

BMW E39 M5 Bumper Fitted | The Touring is Pimped!

Finally having a free chance the bumper has been fitted and I fitted the foglights and wired them up, the bumper really finishes off the front of this car!

Bumper on, fogs not fitted yet:

And the finished product, minus a few touches I still need to complete:

Now we just need Nick to let us have those beautiful BBS wheels refurbed with a High Polished Lip and M5 Graphite Inners...
