I suspect that after repairing the accident damage, and then attending to all the normal mechanical needs an E46 m3, it will work out more expensive than buying a better example.

Unless you intend to fix it badly, this will cost more than one in a better condition. And if the owner was too cheap for insurance, how well did he maintain the engine?

I Like it - you can strip out the back section and reinforce the subframe mounts and if you take your time getting parts and buy good used stuff you should be able to come away with a good strong car. While the back section is being repaired and painted (you will do the assembly to save costs) you can take the motor out and clean it up and replace bearing shells etc.

If you are not hands on then this is not the car for you

Thanks for the input,
Not sure it is something I would go for, but the price is so tempting,

Like mentioned, track car, or toy, or something similar is also tempting, but if the chassis is skew or bent it may not be a good idea for something that see high speeds and hard driving...

I am hands on, but never had to do anything near as serious as what this looks like though,

Will see though, maybe someone else who has the skills and sees the potential mite snatch up this temptation I'm feeling:YesNo:

+1.

might be a good donor to a e46 touring.... if only i had the money and time.:blueCry:

Unless you know a very good reputable structural repair guy, that can go out and look at the car for you, and give a good estimate + repair quote of what a repair would cost, you would just never be 100% sure.

I would suggest you look for a better example. Rather spend more now, to save money in the long gun.

e46 M3 Engines go for that price.

Buy this car as a donor for a cheap 318i and sell the M stuff separately.

I think that is a scam, because the same car has been advertised in numerous regions, at the same price, but always with a different seller
