Hi all,
Quick question, I may be putting my car up for sale soon.
It is a 2010 white 135i M-sport steptronic convertible,
Would it be better to sell the car with the mods on it (JB4 G5, BMS DCI, ER charge pipe, N55 mids, Rennzport 3" dp's, BMS OCC) hopefully to a fanatic/someone who knows what they are actually getting, or should I revert the car completely back to stock and sell my parts separately.
some background,
The car has 72k on the clock, sleeps in a garage, has never been involved in an accident of any sorts, is in immaculate condition and has FSH. I took the car over at 59000km (february 2015). It had its last service under motorplan at a BMW dealer at 60000km iirc. I then chose not to extend the motorplan as I wanted to mod the vehicle.
I then out of my own pocket at the 65000km mark had the,
-carbon cleaning done at C-Teq in CT at
-The gearbox serviced, new oil, filter&pan, adaptions etc done at ZF in ct (I was shocked to find out that bmw would not do this if the cars motor plan was to be extended as they consider it a "lifelong fluid" :biglol: when ZF state that the GA6HP19Z MUST have its fluid changed and be serviced first no later than the 70k/75k mark IIRC..No wonder you see so many auto BM's for sale with fooked gearbox's later down the line.
-Complete cooling system flushed and refilled with BMW coolant and Distilled water with the correct ratio
-Diff fluid flushed and refilled with the correct castrol diff fluid bought from BMW agent.
-Brake fluid flushed.
-engine oil
-Air filter (which only did about 1000km before I had the DCI fitted)
I saw on the motor plan print out that either the Coilpacks or injectors were all replaced around the +-45k mark under motorplan (will clarify this soon as I can get to the print out) and that it had the fuel pump recall as well.
Engine oil was changed last at 70000km. All service items are bought from the agent.
Car runs flawlessly except for the famous waste gate rattle. Are second hand dealers aware of this issue? Because I can for see it being difficult trying to sell the car to a dealer or a non-enthusiast with rattling wastegates which are clearly audible with the catless downpipes..Before the catless downpipies were fitted the rattle could not be heard.
Does one sell as is?
Does one revert back to stock and gauge the rattling sound before deciding to replace turbo's out of ones pocket only to sell the car? surely every n54 car that is currently for sale with more than 60000km that is still on the same turbos from factory has worn wastegates and the every day ordinary consumer who wants to buy a pre 2011 135i/335i/535i has no clue what they are getting themselves into regarding the turbo situation. I know when I got the car and drove it in stock form I could hear no rattle at all, it was only once the catless downpipes were installed was the rattle clearly audible.
