The feat of fitting a W126 560's V8 engine into a W124 may usually be accredited to AMG, but here in South Africa, a pair of Mercedes-Benz employees did the same.

Back when MB made proper cars.
We had a W124 in the family.
1993 230E.
Back in 1993 it was bought new for R160k.
In 2007, sold for R35k.
Today, if kept in the condition it was last in, would certainly fetch more.

A friend of mine has a 1991 230E. Car is named "die ou man" the old man. He doesn't get to use it often but its mint and runs like a dream.
