That is properly nice.
Really don't like the American spec S54.
Should import the ITB's and install there.

EVERYTHING is so nice and new and shiny and clean. Look at the Washer Fluid bottle :inlove:

This is an s52. Basically what the americans got in their e36 m3. Its just an 3.2 version of the m52 328i motor with better cams etc. Nothing close to the 3.0 and 3.2 s50 we got

It looks awesome in their regardless.

A clean conversion, no doubt - one has to admire the amount of time and effort that went in there.

Ultimately though, an S52 is hardly the pinnacle of what could have been put in there engine-wise. It's quite comparable to the M54B30 in terms of power output and characteristics.

In spite of the mods, it would most likely struggle to keep up with a well kept E28 M5.

If they'd lobbed an S50B32 Euro or even an S54 in there, it would have been the perfect E28.

That looks super cool very neat. Only flaw I see is the Main Radiator Hose is not correct and could cause an issue later on.:bravo:

Hello, gentlemen! I am new here and found this thread after searching for beautiful E28s. That is one of the nicest E28s I have ever seen. I just finished reading the build thread and I am amazed at the level of work that went into building this car.

The build thread states that this is an '82 528e, which was the lightest E28 the states ever received. It also has a manual crank sunroof. The dyno graph says 237 RWHP. With a 15% drivetrain loss (standard) that puts this thing at about 280HP! In the U.S., the M5 only had 256 HP and the rest of the world got the 280HP version. This car has to be lighter than an M5 with series 1 doors, no carpet pad, manual seats, and a manual sunroof. Either way, it would be fun to have a run and see which was quicker!

The Individual throttle bodies version of the S50 would have been nice, but I would take this car any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Also, the coolant hoses look completely normal to me. What I see is a stock E36 M3 hose with the bend in it to accomodate the airbox for the U.S. market S50 E36. I also like how this car has the proper alternator cooling.

Thanks guys, glad to join the forum. Leo
