Hey all..

320i 2001. Automatic Transmission with around 127000Km.
I have this problem if driving in 5th gear (normally the RPM should be between 2200 and 3000 "Depends"), if i try to Slowly accelerate - "without forcing to go to the 4th gear" , the RPM will dip down by 500 to 800 and the car seems to steps back (surge).

However, if the RPM is at 3200 and try to do the same it just accelarates with no issues.

I have cleaned the MAF.
The car has no codes.
I had the gearbox software upgraded.
Could not see any air leaks.

Has anyone had this issue?

stupid question but does this happen with the aircon off or on.....sounds like this could be vanos related maybe or even idle control valve

Hey,

This problem happens with the AC on or off.
Yeah I was thinking Vanos and maybe replacing my fuel pump.

I am going to do the fuel pump anyway, I have an issue with running out of fuel and the gauge still says it 1/4 full.

I have had this car for about 2 months now and it has nothing but problems.
