Time for an update minor one. But still an update. Waiting for the vert to be sold so I can send this car in for its cage.

Today I decided to do further weight savings. I have cut out the spare wheel well and battery area. I guesstimate it weighs about 5-8kg. Benefits of this is less drag. Easier access to the diff and weight savings

I plan on reinforcing the chassis legs where the well was welded in with 2 square bars welded to the chassis legs

The car is so light in the rear I have put my BC BR coil overs on the lowest setting and I still have a 2 finger space. When I had them in my vert the subframe was nearly on the ground. So the weight reduction has def been a success

Hopefully more updates soon

Lots of space for a big diffuser now.

Lol been thinking of it. Also been thinking of welding brackets the chassis legs. For a nice big cf wing

Last weight saving areas I can think of is lightning the bumper stiffners. Roof. Bonnet and boot

Forgot to add something a did awhile ago is the e46 325i rear caliper upgrade. Basically this upgrades your disc from a solid rotor to a vented one. I didn't go any bigger as for the rears my tyre size I will be using is 15"

Hey guys,

long time since I have updated this

So I am at the following cross road.

So I kinda trust ppl too much and this bit me badly.

So I took the car to a friend of myne and paid him in full to do the conversion. But he never did the conversion :thumbdo:

Although I know he has helped me out with the 120i v8 so I know he isnt gonna run with the money and he was about to continue with this car again

Since having 2 e36's and getting an E87 I am contemplating parting out the drift car :dunnoanymore:

But I am in 2 minds as going over this thread make me wonder how much fun it was

Would love to hear your opinions on this as I would probably drop the money into my e87 v8 which would make it a e87 v8 turbo with nitrous :smilebounce:

So if you were in my position what would you do.

I say decide which one you prefer personally.

For me the e87 sleeper is a more tangible project cause you can drive it any time anywhere. A purpose built drift/racecar requires your dedication to go drive. And we all how life gets in the way of having fun.

I say say part out the E36 and drop everything into the E87

Reason for this is exactly like DB said , Life gets hectic you can daily the E87 but
only enjoy the E36 on the track

Best of Luck on the way forward

You said turbo and nitrous.

Even one of those options would be a perfectly good reason to part the drift car.

Sad days.

But at least the parts will live on in other cars. A bit of a tragedy story with this car but recently it got even worse hence why I decided to pull the plug. I will update with the full story another time

This is what it looks like now
