I doubt you will have the clearance for those callipers on a 17" wheel. The stock e46 m3 calliper just barely clears a 17" wheel and that is much smaller in comparison to what you want to fit.

Will have to see once test fitting time. I have a backup plan if these don't work lol

Nevermind, I was thinking long term ownership that you chose 2 of the most expensive disc and pad combos to replace.

Climate system was disgusting. This car always amazes me with its skeletons.

I plan on only running gauges. Basically. Boost. Tacho. Oil pressure. Oil temp. Water temp. Air fuel ratio and my clock lol

This is how my tacho is going to be mounted

I'm quite intrigued about the idea of just running the gauges on a flat panel or something similar. I know you showed some pics earlier in the thread but would like to see how it ends up looking. I think if done right it could look cool.

Not sure if I would do mine like that as I want to keep mine street 'legal' but it has got me thinking...

Haha thanks guys. Yeah got a lot more weight reduction to do. I plan on mounting the gauges on the roll cages and try wire tuck as much as I can

I wasn't aware E30 diff would work in an E36, but that said, I will quote JC, "How hard can it be?"

You just need the e30 internals. They apparently are a straight swap with the e36 internals

Ah thanks. Had a suspicion of such. Good luck and keep up the progress.
Similarly E34?

When I worked for the dealers the E34 diff seemed to be the most likely to be a swop if I saw one, just figured, as you plan to thrash this car, that stronger is better.

I don't think its 100% swap. There's some machining and shimming involved from what I read/heard.

Also keen to see what a difference it makes fitting an ls. Would it be worth it having the clutches coated again? I know it depends on the wear, but to get even more lock would you do it?

I am sure it has been it has been used abit lol

But yes gonna run the welded diff first then I will probably get the LSD rebuilt with more clutches so it has a more aggressive lock

Will try swap it over this weekend as I have an open diff 3.46 sitting at home and I am going to swap the internals across.

A guy who races with us has his own gearbox & diff place down here and in JHB somewhere. They do the coating of the clutches to a more aggressive spec than from factory. So let me know and I'll give you his details. Then you can just get them coated.
