My plan was always to find a cheap convertible and convert it into a drifter. And I found one I was only planning on getting this next year but I couldnt resist :rollsmile:

Also found free flops open to offers on the flops :biglol:

Ok so what will be going into this build...

I am going to transfer the suspention and diff from the sedan to this one and swap in the 1uz turbo. Then I am going to gut it and weld in a cage which will hopefully stiffen the chassis right up but it will need to fit under the roof.

car is pretty solid

came with papers, license everything lines up seems only the front end needs to be lined up as it had a bit of a fender bender. Almost all the parts are there except for the drivers seat and the front bumper and stiffener

ELA RE!!!, not sure but the guys say it was in a slight front impact and the guy ran out of funds to fix it as he took it to a backyard mechanic. This car has been sitting outside for like 8 months in the rain :thumbdo:

What did you pay for it if I may ask?

So here are some updates...

The white car(sedan) will be in my possession a little bit, till I get the vert running. So for now its the test fit chassis for the lexus v8 turbo setup as the vert will be going in for its cage.

So here is some v8 goodness

So the wayBrandon has done it, the car will only use custom engine mount brackets. It is using the same gearbox mounting position so there is no need to modify the carrier or propshaft :clapper:

Went past the garage to clean my very and to try get the windows up and take some snaps of the V8 fitment

First the V8 fitment
Unfortunately we don't have much space to work with for the turbo manifold so we gonna have to make up a log type manifold.

Below is the space for the turbo manifolds lol

Since it was raining I wanted to try close my windows from preventing the situation getting worse. I also decided to do a bit of a cleanup

Reset the roll over protection bars and got the roof to drop

After a bit of a cleanup. Sorry didn't take pics of the cleanup. We got the roof bock on and lifted most of the windows and put a plastic on the front window to prevent further water going in

Lol that had more than a slight front impact as the airbags popped and roll over protection popped out. Did the engine bay catch fire too? How is that front right wheel still holding air?

Please do yourself a favour and dump the 325i getrag gearbox from your build and use the 328i ZF gearbox instead as it will easily support the power you will be putting out.
