Has the weight saving not effected your weight distribution?

Is the rear not sitting higher now?

Unfortunately yes the weight distribution will definately be effected, but I have been putting this off but this up coming week I will be fitting my coil overs and replacing my left side rear hub as it has a broken bolt. So that will sort out the ride height

Still waiting for my lexan windows :thumbdo:

Here are more pics from the weekend

Still need to finish off with the wiring. But other than that it's looking what I imagined it to look like

As for the haters I have something special coming up for you soon...

So keep tabs

I plan on doing a sunroof delete soon, so stay tuned

Is there an alternative to delete the Sunroof, :tiptoe: I want to delete mine but I want to avoid to damage the rear window

AC - there is a way...weld small tack welds in a criss corss pattern...evenly distributing the heat.

This should save the windscreen....I am not sure how Captain done it..but I am pretty sure it must have been a point and squirt exercise.

he other point would be, whar type of welding to use. Stick would be out, purely cause of heat. A Mig/Co2 setup will do the trick.

Well depends on the look you want, if its a race car and you dont care about the looks then you can do what I did, but the proper way is to replace the roof skin from a non sunroof vehicle.

You could also use a lexan sheet and rivet the piece in then you will basically have a lexan sunroof lol

Basically I had a wet tell across the roof and welded at intervals and about 2 hours after I was done welding the glass just shattered.

I also used a mig welder

There are many other ways to delete your roof, but for my other car I am just going to do the lexan route

JayDrft - :ty: point taken

RoughRider - I like the Lexan look, by the way how do you remove the Sunroof? Must I remove the whole interior roof lining? I think I must have a look before opting for delete. Thank guys, you are the best :ty:

I saw in the state they have this (attached pic. and thought maybe in S.Africa is also available).

Yeah I would gone this route but I had an old roof fining lying around. @ AC. Yes you need to remove the roof lining. To gain access to the sunroof mounting screws. My sunroof is still installed but planning on removing it soon.

Mirrors. Sunroof removal. Door pin straps. Door wiring delete.

Since my mirrors were really ruined I decided to try a different look and they are a tad lighter.

Door pin straps. With the removal of the door cards the door pins tend to flop around so I did this.

Yesterday was the first time I gave the car a rip and I can definitely feel the difference on pull off. I still have a lot of weight saving to do. So keen to see the final results

looking good bud!

the rear end is looking quite high off the ground compared to the front... are you gonna make a plan there? shorter springs maybe?

I might have chucked the pump. This car had a hack job with those cheap auto style kits for central locking

Ok. So drop is completed !!!

BC coil overs are really nice you can thread the shock body so your shocks become custom shortened shoxs

The above reinforcements plates from axis. Really good quality and fit

This is the lowest I could drop the car to. I think the issue why it won't go lower is because ther is no weight in the rear

Rear door panel cut out for weight savings. I am only doing the rears as it weakens the door in a crash
