So like it says i want to either vinyl wrap or plasti dip the roof. I have a R5 size area on the roof where the clear is fading...Which one would be better to do? and how much would it cost roughly? i want a glossy black finish so not to sure how the plasti dip is gonna work.
Thanx guys

there is a glossifier for plastidip, but it is not the same as gloss vinyl.

Theres pros and cons to both, some i can think of is that some vinyl is a pain to get off when the need arises. Plastidip might not give you the finish you want and might need to be reapplied at some point. The vinyl might start peeling if not done correctly.

I Love plastidip, but for your requirements I would say Vinyl. But it must be a good quality and fitted correctly

it depends on the type of look you are going for, the plasti dip is easier to apply, no haste of bubbles and In my opinion the finish looks better than wrap :fencelook:

if you want it gloss black, then use wrap, plastidip with the glosifier is great for small applications in my opinion, but for a large area such as the roof wrap will work better.

Keep in mind peeling it off at a later stage might peel off some of your already peeling clear coat. Why not redo the clear coat of the roof instead?

Hi,

The grey coat on the interior handles on my 2006 E90 320i is peeling off and showing bits and pieces of black :argh:. I want to change it all to black and inclined to go with the glossy look. What would you recommend, dip or wrap? And where can I get it in the Vanderbijl/Vereeniging region?

Plastidip dont work so well on areas that gets touched/rubbed often, and to wrap such small things is not going to be fun. Rather get a plastic spray.

sorry to the OP for the hijack

i found a plastic spray paint by rust-o-leum and i used it on my RC car, its not a high use area, but once properly dry, seems to be quite durable.
