So its time to introduce the replacement to my E39 that was written off around a month ago... More on that here.
So having had one of the most immaculate examples of an E39 around, and there was definitely nothing even remotely like it on all the common car sale sites... Therefore the decision was made that I would not be getting another E39... A good thing also as the E39 for me would always be remembered as the car I was in an accident with. So time for something new...
I had a pretty unique set of requirements... It had to be a BMW, it had to also be diesel, preferably 3L, auto and less than 150k km... Not too demanding right? Oh, and I didnt really want to spend more than like R150k...
So I set about looking at E60's. Let me tell you that most early E60 530d's that I saw for sale mostly had massively high mileage, were in completely rubbish condition and really looked quite sad... Nothing there that I wanted... So I decided to look at E90's...
Looked at a couple and was almost ready to pull the trigger on one... Then I saw her. The mileage was higher than I wanted but she looked good from the ads. A background check from Coisman gave the thumbs up too...
2 hours later we find ourselves on a mission station outside of Kranskop in rural KZN. What I found was a really stunning well looked after car! Test drove her and terrified the owner and my dad. I was happy. Decision made. She's coming home.
So what I have now is as follows:
2007 530d Msport (LCI)
181k km as it stands.
She's not perfect and has some minor cosmetic issues that I'll sort out over time. What matters the most is that she's mechanically sound and very well maintained.
Of course a big shoutout to both Nikhil and Coisman for all the help and advice making sure I bought the right car!!
