RoadMaster Exhausts - Exceptionally Poor Workmanship and Pathetic Business Ethic

I've been sending my work to Calvin for years.. he's always been busy. I don't blame you for how you feeling but please. If you going to comment things like that, don't forget to mention what you did and said to get the response you did. Quick to express your views on Roadmaster because it didn't suit you and you didn't get your way... i remember your vehicle well. I also remember a friend of yours who you brought to Roadmaster who actually contacted roadmaster and said he wants nothing to do with what you've had to say and will continue using Roadmaster for the foreseeable future. If someone treated me the way you treated Calvin i also wouldn't want to do work for you. And ps to anyone who actually hasn't seen his workmanship, go have a look at it. It is stunning!!!

@"[email protected]" you just joined the forum now, to cover up for your mate.. Whilst I can appreciate the loyalty, you are way out of your depth with this whole conversation.. Thank you though, for bumping this thread with your reply and exposing the preferential treatment friends of Calvin receive.

Unless you were with Calvin 24/7, you have no idea what transpired from both sides. Calvin is no saint and as I've told him, he has an overinflated opinion of the work he does and his customer service cannot back it up. A lifetime warranty means nothing if you can't fix your fcuk-ups, after months of being asked to rectify it. Go read my thread, I was willing to give your mate the benefit of the doubt but he continued to be a waste of hot air and lame excuses. I have irrefutable proof of what transpired and where Calvin slandered other reputable exhaust shops, among other things.. I can be nice up to a point and then I get tired of bullshit and lies.

No "friend" of mine would've been such a lowly coward to carry tales, that's the job of a snitch, of which I have my suspicions.. If that person is reading this, PM me to clear the air. If anyone else wants to continue to use RoadMaster, by all means. Did you bother to read the other comments in this thread about his shoddy work and piss poor customer ethic..?

If "stunning" work constitutes failure after 6 months on multiple vehicles, then his work is certainly "stunning", albeit in the wrong sense. The purpose of my thread was to highlight my experience at this disaster of a shop and it was enough to put me off for life. I am just affording fellow forumites the courtesy I wish I had before setting foot in 'RoadMaster'.

Whilst I appreciate the fact that you are standing up for a mate's business, I believe there are a few things worth considering here...

I personally know of 3 downpipes which have failed, regardless of the measures taken to fix this.... This failure should not occur on work that is deemed stunning. By contrast, I have owned and know of plenty downpipes that last years....

Being busy is the worst possible excuse when it comes to business, if you can't put in a proper booking system and processes so you aren't tripping over yourself then you shouldn't own a business. These one man shows are very common especially in Durban, but the limitations are endless.

Unfortunately your business and reputation are defined by the way you handle failures, and focusing energy on making excuses for poor customer service is the worst thing you could do.

After reading this...

The experience here, is a golden example of where you need to go do a review of this company on Google reviews. That is usually where regular non-forum people look first when they are interested in using a company's services. I know I also look there.

@"KPM_330" highly recommend you write a review there! That is the best way to make sure people avoid making the same mistake as you.

I see this company is already at 3.7 rating which to me sounds far too high...
See: RoadMaster Exhausts Reviews

Oh look I see @'[email protected]' already gave his 5 star there...

I then decided to have a morrit mod done to dump the fumes before they hit the tail pieces.

is it essentially a fake exhaust tip? or does it let through some gasses?

Where did the name come from, google only points to this thread?
Its not really a fake exhaust tip cause its real exhaust tips... I jest.

Its technically not supposed to let through any gasses but Calvin's useless workmanship rendered it a proper exhaust gas exit, which sort've defeated the point. It did make a difference to the amount of cleaning needed though, so can imagine how a proper one would work.. I would 100% recommend for any diesel owner, that droopy tail piece is a sad sight imho.

Not sure where the name came from, saw @FiRi@Rennzport mention it on his 120d thread and so the name was coined.
