Car looks good. Why so many holes drilled in the bumper by the plate area though?

It had on the number plate bracket that takes all those screws, so i removed it as
I prefer the look. Will try and get them covered soon.

Hi Guys,

So things happened so fast that I managed to sell my previous car and in a matter of 2 days was fetching my new vehicle.

I had my heart set on getting a M235i coming out of an E82 135i, considered this to be the perfect upgrade from an e series. I don't know if this was luck or just perfect timing but the right spec became available.

At first, I wanted Alpine White, but now really loving the Mineral White!

Anyways less talking, here she is!

Collection day . . .

So update time, think it was long overdue :smilebounce:

Fitted a downpipe to the car which made a huge difference in the power as one hour later the chargepipe blew. Replaced with an after market one the next day and it was finally time for the software.

I called up Sherwin from Xcede Performance and received excellent service. The car is driving incredible, it is so much smoother then when it was in stock form, the gear changes and power delivery is amazing! Thank you Sherwin for all the assistance and knowledge sharing past on :ty::bravo:

Current Mods:
Downpipe
Chargepipe
Pump Fuel

Congrats. How does it compare to the 135i? Did you have DCT 135i or manual and if was dct which box you think is better?

I had the DCT box in the 135i. I have to say I love everything in the F series except the gearbox. This sports auto just does not compare to the DCT, my opinion is BMW messed up taking away the DCT as it worked perfectly!

It does not respond the same and the delay is a bit noticeable, driving her in manual mode/comfort changing at low rpm is nightmare. The DCT box used to be harsh in sport mode only, but you expect that, as its in sport. Its as if they tried to replicate that harsh/sporty change with the new box using a single clutch, which is now there in comfort mode as well.

I have booked the car in to update the firmware and reset all adaptions, will see if there is a change when it comes back.

.

and this is exactly why i have been holding on to my e82 135i dct

you hear from reviewers that the 7 speed zf is sooo good , but any dct owner tell you the can feel the difference

Surprisingly after the software, the gearbox feels really great and shifts gears really smooth, would still rate the dct box better.

Although the E82 is a really nice car but I would still choose the 2 series over it. I dont even think of that car anymore and with all the different add on's to the 2 series really makes it more enjoyable in the cockpit.

I dont agree with the DCT vs. the ZF 8 speed. I think the ZF is smoother and more refined than the DCT especially for everyday driving where most people use it. Also the ZF doesn't roll like a manual in gear. In sport mode its marginally slower than the DCT with changes. Its due to it being better all round that the new M5 has the 8 speed instead of the DCT.
