Rim Size for a 135

Hi Guys,

my brother bought a set of rims for his 135i.

19" - 8.5j front
19" 9.5j rear

WHen we bought them, we were told they would fit, alas..they dont.
We went to go put tyres on and the tyre place said its a no.

So our solution, We are going to have the rears made narrow, taken to 8.5j as well.

My question however is, on the 19" rims, the 8.5j it shouldnt catch on the inside under the car as its narrow, but will it catch on the outside, by the wheel arch?

Well if its the same on my hatch, i have 9.5J rear. When i put them on i could not drive as they were touching the side wall.

I had to take the car to powerflow and had to grind the inside lip in the wheel arch....Now i can drive with 4 people on the car and doesn't touch.....

Thanks man,

We are going to be running 8.5j front and rear.

I have the rears on at the moment to test.

The original tyres were 245 / 35 /18
TWT just put a set of 245 / 35 / 19 on when my brother went through.

The online calculator says there is a quiet a difference in the circumference.
I put in 245 / 30 / 19 and that seems to be a much closer.
Going to go get them to put the right size on....

What size tyres are you running?

If they narrowing the rim from the in side it will still catch - you must take of the outside/hub if it is possible.

I wish the suppliers will bring in stock of rims suitable to straight fit our cars.
