"Rich" exhaust fumes

Hi All,

So i've been meaning to ask about this for a while now.
My 20d has a very rich smell coming from the exhaust (you know, normal diesel smells, but like x 2). Anyone maybe know what might case this or if anyone else has ever experienced this?
Maybe this is also the cause of the heavy fuel consumption? I'm on 9.1l/100Km now, but I travel from Weltevreden park (roodepoort) to Rosebank to Parktown and back the same way everyday), so I just thought it might be because of traffic.

Downpipe was done abut 2 years ago iirc.
No software
Currently on 273xxx km's.

Check for any exhaust/downpipe leaks as a first step bud.

This is exactly what I was thinking about doing.
Thanks @///M Individual I'll take her in to one of the exhaust fitment centres to check out for any leaks.
