RGM probably robbed this poor oak to build that car. Shame...

Fixed

Is RGM really that bad guys? not to stir or anything like that please don't get me wrong. I've seen lots of people saying this.... to think I always wanted him to build my future BMW.

Not to mention the fitment of the hood.... Half a mill and his hood doesnt even align nicely... I'm pretty sure you could buy a E92 M3 and put a G-Power supercharge on it for about the same as this guys asking...

priced is pretty nuts. There are 2 sav turbo m3s on autotrader as well. I wonder how these m3s compare in terms of quality and power to the HPF m3s in the US . 500K is alot to spend on car thats on the brink of failure :thumbdo:

alot of their pricing is off the charts but their builds are generally of a high quality in SA terms...

I recently had a customer who was quoted 7k for a set of e46 Eibach springs from RGM when retail is 3k...

I'm not debating RGM quality. They use Vortech Chargers, which are brilliant, and their custom intakes etc seem to work. What I would like to debate, is the prices they charge. Absolutely ridiculous, especially when I can go and buy a VF engineering or ESS bolt-on kit for less than half the price they charge, and get better power delivery and numbers. Not to mention reliability.

I am not sure where RGM gets their figures to charge so much? Are the intakes made from Solid platinum, forged from the mines of Bakubung and hand crafted by the finest smiths available, not to mention they bring me espresso with grappa and a great Italian dinner for two on a romantic eve??? Cause at the price he charges, it better fucking be.

It just doesn't make sense to me. Sure some people don't want to DIY their supercharger conversions because they don't want to risk doing it wrong and thus breaking their car, but if you actually did some reading and research, you'd find out supercharging a BMW M3 is rather simple, nowhere near as complicated as Turbo Charging. Especially with a VF kit, which uses the newer Vortech supercharges which are self oiled and cooled. No need to run oil return lines to the sump and other complicated plumping. It's pretty much simply bolt on supercharger, install intake & Fuel injectors, tune ECU... drive off. The manual explains very clearly how to install the kit etc. It can be done in one afternoon with your china's by your side and a beer in hand.

Tuning is another debacle on its own, as our fuel is different to that of Europe and USA, thus a custom tune will need to be done, but I'd rather trust Ross at RBTS to do my tuning than RGM. At the price they charge for tuning, my car better do a breakdance at the traffic lights before setting off.

their price is crazy, if you know a bit about cars you can compare everything...

they do do quality work and there are reasons they are still in business, but again if you have the cash to spend, why not I guess:flyfun:

Just saying 500k for an e46 makes my tongue itch...but if u read the parts list that thing is sorted from the ground up. I can't say anything about RGM coz I'm in the cape town area...but with the proper setup, it sounds like it should give plenty an exotic italian a run for its money on a track

@ Daniel -- R500k is indeed a lot for an e46, even of this calibre. Now I don't want to gloat or show off, but just to put things into perspective here as I have some experience with the above mods on an e46 M3.

My car has pretty much everything this RGM M3 has installed, sance the 4.11 diff and other RGM branded extras. I have the Vortech V3 supercharger kit from VF Engineering, I have CP pistons, HPF rods, VAC big end bearings, ARP bolts and L19 head studs, Vac Oil Pump Internals, Vac Racing vavles. I have the same GTR Hood, CSL bumper. I have HPF under brace as well as bilstein PSS 10 Coilover Suspension which will destroy RGM's no name suspension setup. I have stoptech big brake kit, UUC sway bars and short shift kit. Same Strut braces. ACS racing mirrors, same bushings. I have customs Vorsteiner rims, bla bla bla -- The list goes on... The fact is, I still would have paid less than R500k to build this car, but not at RGM. The poor guy got robbed and it just pisses me off to see RGM charge so much. I speak from experience. The owner could have built this car with the same if not better parts for cheaper.

I am not saying its a bad car. In fact, from my experience and talking from my own M3... its a bloody amazing ride. This car is a beast, and its definitely worth R500k... but I am telling you now, he spent a lot more building it @ RGM.

Whoever buys this, is going to have one amazing car. I shall now jump off my soap box as I think I've made my point clear.

I think this is one of RGM's cars. It used to stand in the workshop for display and advertising purposes. Like their E92 M3 "The Thing"

If I not mistaken...this e46 m3 also has nos powershots....im talking under correction here....but I think this car is near 1000hp.

Someone give oom Rob a call. I'm sure he could be more specific about this particular vehicle.

Fact is Crash...RGM's workmanship quality is excellent. You also do get warranty on your vehicle with their performance products installed. And in the end...you pay for the RGM name.
If I had enough money...I would not think twice to take my vehicle to RGM for some love.

I have been a few times to their workshop...inspecting. Been there at Dyno days...been there while they supercharged my Fathers 86..all I can say is...you get what you pay for.

To each his own I guess, I had my M Coupe done there, sure it was expensive, but the work is excellent...

Like Rommies said, you get what you pay for, and that includes a warranty...

I’ll let you guys know what the M blows up.
