Review : Carbon Doctor Cape Town / Super Street Autoworx review

With all the issues my car has, and the fact that I had to get her ready for long distance journey on short notice, Super Street Autoworx were the only option I had that could accomodate me.

They received an excellent recommendation from a couple of online acquaintances who used SSA for carbon cleaning, but I was still a little hesitant.

Imagine my surprise when I met the owner, Talon Pillay. He originally hails from KZN and in a surprising twist he did his initial BMW Apprenticeship training at the very dealer my car was originally purchased from. In fact he worked on the car for its first few services, so my E36 has come a full circle. He has over 20 years experience working for BMW locally and overseas.

I felt much more at ease after meeting Talon and very impressed with his neat workshop. I can't tell you guys how annoying a dirty untidy workshop annoys me.

Now to the meat and bones. My 318i needed a major service (all filters, oil, spark plugs etc) and a diff swap.
Total for the service itself with parts and labour was just over R2k. As it turns out, all my belts and pulleys needed to be replaced as well, so that was an additional R1.5k. SSA charged me a minimal labour fee to swap the diff, and swap the flanges in order to get it all to work without me needing a new propshaft.
Post service, Talon has given me a list of things on the car that need attention in the near future (it never ends with old BMWs eh?)

So, George, Talon. 5 Stars. Service like this is rare in the motor trade, especially in Cape Town.

Yip props to Talon! Took my car there for a carbon clean and was very happy with the service and top quality workmanship. Workshop is super clean and Talon knows his stuff.
Also now done software and downpipes for me. Car goes like a rocket now.
Stoked to have found someone that cares and takes pride in his workmanship.

So, had a quick chat with Talon via their FB page for future work. Seems like a super guy. Also linked him to this thread and he blushed. He swears he didn't bribe Wikked for this lol and is thankful his good work gets noticed. Will be visiting him soon.

Thanks for this review.

I might just take my 325i there if my misfire issues are still present.

Thanks for the awesome review Wikked, and reuniting me with one of the first cars I worked on 20 odd years ago as green back appy.....glad we could sort you out! It is very gratifying to see that you were chaffed with us and our service delivery. We certainly try our best to be customer-centric and do things the way they should be done without any compromise. Same to you Woodies...the props are greatly appreciated. I look forward to meeting 3speed and Ducknuckle personally.

Bringing up an old thread.

Car went in on Monday and received the call from Talon today stating the misfiring has already been resolved and he confirmed but properly driving the car.

Getting some other issues sorted out but I'm already extremely pleased with these results.

10/10 would recommend
