Returned to a Standard back box

Hi Guys

Ive been busy with the car , lol so a few days ago i had a cat back system which is from the CAT i had a freeflow system with 1 powerflow box on , took out the resonator too.

this was a huge mistake as my car was SOOOO loud and droned, so i though for a bmw 116i there is literally no point in having this system as the car is not a performance car therefore i removed system and went back to stock back box but without resonator.

Car is SOOOO quiet now , but rather that than something that you can hear but cant go fast LOL:thumbs:

 good decision. nothing more frustrating than a droning car. Might sound good from the outside, but inside it becomes irritating. you may be able to deal with the noise if the car has the acceleration to match, but even then it can still be ugly on long trips.

Mine is loud, that I often get pedestrians and motorists looking at me with weird expressions. I love the sound, it happens between 1800rpm and 2200rpm.

If you not doing anything on Sunday, come to Killarney for the Track Day. You'll hear my exhaust

im duel 57mm with 3 free flow boxes... its not too loud... if im on the loud pedal with my window open i often get guys whistling and see them dancing in the rear view  dont get dirty looks from pedestrians so cant be that loud and it only drones under 2000 rpm where i never spend any time anyway...

that said a 4cyl will never sound like a 6 :fencelook:

CAT wasnt removed, as i dont intend keeping the car that much longer , maybe another year, so will have to live with the quieet sounds for now

Good call. The loudness of the exhaust system must be at the tip of the exhaust and heard outside...inside it must excite you not kill your ears. I had my share of exhaust systems...
