Retired BMW Mechanic

My car needs to be services in about 5000km's. It does not have a motor plan anymore.

Is it a good idea to take it to a retired mechanic? If so, does anyone know such a person in the Cape Town or Paarl area?

BMW Paarl phoned me last week and they have a special on oil service. I would go for that if I was in you
