The charge pipe on the n54 and n55 are reknown for breaking and popping off. Upgrading the charge pipe with a proper replacment removes that problem from your car.

Secondly the charge pipes are deisgned for better airflow due to the larger diameter and design, so in theory, Yesit should give you a slightly better throttle response. However for maximum benefit, upgraded dvs and a JB4 coupled with the charge pipe will a good route to explore.

Morning bud. Yes the charge pipe will need to be replaced. It's very common for them to break on the clip that goes onto the intake manifold.

Yup - EWG chargepipes are also prone to failure. More especially when boost is increased, but I have heard of plenty stock cars with the same problem.
