Ive loved bmws since i was little. We had 2 e30 318i. 1 was Auto and the other manual (that manual was freaking fast). I loved the feel and quality.

then a few years back I met a bmw crazed friend. His family has only ever owned bmws, and they say that they will never buy any other make of car. I drove his e36 318is. that car was awesome, and still is.

Then my brother bought a e46 318i auto / Steptronic. After driving his car I said that when I buy my BMW it must be an Auto.

Ive been driving an opel corsa for 4.5 years. sold it.

I finally saved up enough to buy the car i wanted. I searched and searched for an Individual or M Pack 318i Auto (you wouldnt believe how hard they are to find). Couldnt find one, and was going to settle for a 318 exclusive auto. then one day, bam, I see a 318 M Pack Auto for sale. I sent my cousins, one who worked for Leo Huize BMW and the other who worked for Mccarthy toyota to check the car. They gave it the thumbs up. So i called the guy and arranged a meet for me to drive it.

Go there (sandton) at about 8 in the evening, the guy had the car waiting for me. I nearly fainted when i saw it. BEAUTIFUL.

At first i was sceptical of the Alcantara / Cloth seats, but after sitting in them all doubts faded away. I pressed the accelerator and immediatly told the guy, ill take it.

Paid him the next day, and drove the car home. now, every chance i get i just spend time in the car.

Haha, I must be the first person who hated his first time. :)

I didn't test-drive my car before buying it. The PO dropped himself off at his house with me riding shotgun. When I got in the hotseat I felt that I had made a big mistake. I struggled to get it into reverse, didn't really like the clutch, felt uncomfortable, and a couple of other small things I can't remember. The love started very quickly after that though.

it was a bare as hell 330i and i loved every god damn second of it.

Never before had i driven a car that begs to be revved, the way the motor delivers the power was progressive and constant peaking right at red line. Not exactly urgent but a constant surge of power. The music from the back was glorious:excited: aswell as the sound of the motor & intake in its sweet spot.

All in all it was a great car and very reliable even when beaten on but this time round i'd like to compliment the heart with a suspension package and brakes that don't fade as quickly as they did. A 6 speed box rather than 5 and an ESS TS2+ wouldn't hurt either:excited::excited:

I can't wait...

First car was an Azurite Blue E30 318i. I test drove heaps of cars, and to be honest, I was prejediced against BMW as I was brought a true blue ford boy. But a saleman convinced me to get inside and I had a feeling as i sat inside... then it got stronger when i started the engine, and then by the time I had made it out the dealership i was in love. Purchased it a week later and can still remeber the feeling of driving it home and exploring all the bits. Made in Bavaria means something special to me now.

The 325i was a rush purchase and came into my life at a wild time... it was trade in on my second love. A Diamond Black Motorsport II:dropjaw:. I has seen it in the showroom one night and because of work I couldn't get to the dealership during office hours for 3 weeks. When they told me it was sold. Anyway long story short a friend told me he could get me a e46 318i for a good price, they couldn't give me the right trade for my car though, but they said they had a Diamond Black Motorsport II in Bloem, should they bring it up to welkom for me too look at:thumbsup: Turned out to be the one I had been drooling over a month earlier.

I had the dealer bring the car to my house one evening.. Got in it, and as soon as I felt the power difference between the 318 and 320 e46'es I was hooked.. The car is gentle, but has enough of a kick to take it for a bit of a run now and then, when I'm in the mood.

Handles well, performs well, and has been the most reliable car I've ever owned.

"I love how easy Heel & Toe is"

I so agree with this! I've been driving a corsa and an Isuzu doublecab while my car was in for the radiator, brakes and a bootlid. Those vehicles are impossible to heel toe.

But the 320i that I have is so amazing! I'm missing it now!

I wasn't even looking for a car but when I saw the 330i in the dealership I thought I better take it for a test drive. As I started it I was sold just the sound had my heart racing. The test drive was amazing. The next day I traded in my bakkie and drove home with my first bimmer, 330i. It really was love at first drive.

My first experience with bmw was when I was about 12, and a guy called redgie, our youth leader.
He worked for bmw rosslyn and he was one of the first to be the proud owner of a 333.
now I must confess, I had no idea what that was, but today I know...anyway...
He use to take us for a spin, me my brother, and my cousin, and he loved to drive his car like it was ment to drive.
The one day it was raining, and he told us to brace ourselves, and he did a few 360's, and j-turns.
even today, many, many years later, I still tell that story, and even sometimes just thinking back, I will smile,
remembering the way I felt that night.
My first owned bmw...I hated it, had to sell my vtec, and got a 2000 e46 320d, didn't testdrive it, the wife did, I refused, didn't want to own a "trekker", the wife drove it home, the friday, I refused.
It was parked the whole saturday, and on the sunday night, my brother came over to have a look.
He basically forced me to take him for a spin, and after fighting him for about 3 hours, I finally agreed just to shut him up, and then...
...then it happened. Even though it was a diesel, I couldn't believ it, I had that same feeling what I had when I was 12.
ok, the sound of the diesl and the low rev changes pissed me off for the 2 years I drove it, but it was still a bmw.
When it came time to let her go, I opted for the diesel again, just a newer version, but then it happened...
it was about 11:00 and I hat to be at the dealership at 12 to fetch my 2004 e46 320d, my phone rang, and the salesman told me he got me a 325i...
I told him to change the papers, and by the time I get there, I want to drive it out...
needless to say that was 3 years ago, and I still have her.

When I test drove it, my youngest daughter was crying. She said it was too fast, and that was just accelerating, I wasn't even going fast. LOOOOOOVED IT!!!!!!

My first BMW was an e30 325i.
I didnt even want it, but i knew it was worth a lot more than what the guy wanted for it, so basically only bought it to sell again. My father and all his friends warned me not to buy it, becasue they said that an old BMW is an electronic nightmare.
I didnt listen and got it in any case.
Sold it again 2 months down the line for 3 times what i paid for it.
"Mission accomplished" , however i had this terrible feeling that something BIG was missing afterwards.
Made up for that feeling by having:
4 x 325 e30
1 x 323 e30 2dr
2 x M5 e34
1 x M5 e28
1 x M3 e36
I enjoyed the e34 M5 the most of all, and decided the first one would be the keeper.

Bought my first Bimmer 3months ago, my wife and i met in a car accident in April, the car was written off, it was the only car we had. We went to a BMW dealership for fun, to get our minds of the accident. Just so happens the 323i sportpack that i own today was traded in that very week of the accident. Put the finance through and got the car. Never dreamed that i would own a BMW ever. Love the car, almost cried while driving it of the floor with my wife.

I came up from Durban looking for a job in Josi 2005 when i was 21, all i had was a suitcase of clothes, my grand dads Golf, R1000 and the hope of making a life for myself.

All the hard work and sacrifice paid off.
